This is simply the prologue, if no one reads it, then I won't be publishing the rest =P
But thanks for giving it a try anyway =)

"What do you mean your moving?!" My best friend Cassie questioned me as I started emptying the contents of my locker into my bag.
"I mean, my grandma got a promotion at the hospital. Their moving her to another one half way across the country, and I have to go with, as if that wasn't obvious enough."
She took off her glasses and wiped her eyes with her sleeve.
"Hey, why are you crying?" I put down my bag and gave her a hug. "Because! You are my best friend and your leaving me." She squeezed me as tight as she could and didn't let go for a good 10 minutes.

"I love you Riley, please Skype me as often as you can." She tried to sound as confident as she could, but that failed when her voice cracked when she said my name. "I love you too Cassie, I promise you that I will." I planted a small kiss on her lips before emptying the remaining contents of my locker into my bag.

"Walk me home?" I asked. She nodded sadly and grabbed my hand and we walked out of my school.

Me and Cassie had dated before we were best friends, we still occasionally give each other small kisses and hold hands, but we agreed it was better to be friends. We understand each other so well, we've only ever had one fight and that was before we were even friends.

"I'm gonna miss you being here, Riley."

"I know, I'm gonna miss you too." I gave her hand a small comforting squeeze before we walked up the driveway of my house.
"Goodbye." I have her another long hug, but this time, we were both crying into each others shoulders.

"Here, I want you to take this." She unhooked a golden charm bracelet from her wrist and held it out to me. It had a small yin and yang charm hanging off of it.

"But your mum gave you this, I can't take it!" She lives alone with her dad, her mum left when she was just 3 and I can't remember the last time I saw her without it on.

"My mom left me a lot of things. Please, I want you to take it, it'll remind you of me because I've never gone a day without wearing it." I gave her another hug and took the bracelet from her.

"Thank you. Put it on me?" She nodded and I held out my arm and she hooked the thin chain onto my wrist. I'm surprised at how new it still looks new after years of wearing.

"Oh, and Riley?" She looked up at me, concern in her eyes.

"Yea?"

"Don't forget me, like, ever. I don't want four years of amazing love and friendship to just go away with distance." I embraced her in another hug. "How could I? You've been my only friend for all this time, I'm not going to just let that go. I'll never let you go."
"Never?"

"Never."
