It was something about vinyl that brought comfort to this night.

They knew it would last forever.

They revealed their rear ends to jobs, bills and nosy parents for just one night.

Told them all to pucker up,

for today its just us

... and the tunes that united and never divided.

They went back in hidin'.

Rebuilding their strength for another cold winter

of gold dinners,

where the turkey and conversations are just overstuffed.

Silence was no where to be found

and they missed it.

They couldn't think of anything more scary.

This is one of those rare nights for Layla and Larry."

Larry didn't care if the record skips

He just wanted to spend time with an infinite mind

that matched hourglass hips.

And let the record show, he showed ...

up this evening when she doubted him time and time again.

Layla heard all the excuses that he'd call reasons.

Then those fights usually turned into threats of leavin'.

That's why tonight they said ..

We don't talk ....

There is nothing they have to say

that cant be told through the gestures of pleasure

and these spinning sounds.

How often could we make the world stop for just us?

Rarely.

That's why tonight is about Layla and Larry.

When Layla armadillo-curls into Larry's chest

it takes his breath.

This night they fantasized about a universe painted in a color of passion by the same team of Gods that designed her just for him. It was Anita Baker, Freddy Jackson, old wine and a new mind

that brought him home tonight ... and he's glad he did. She could feel him beginning to loosen up. She felt the lax in his bones and heard the steady of his heartbeat.
