BALANCING THE PLATTERS on your arms, you efficiently make your way to the table and place them down for your customers. You hear someone calling your name from the other side of the room, and you readjust your headband."Coming!" you exclaim, scurrying over to the back of the classroom. The maid café is a hit, and everyone's been busy in keeping up with the orders. The girls wait the tables, while the boys prep and clean the dishes. There's a line forming outside of the classroom—you can sense the urgency and impatience from customers.
Reminding yourself to stay alert, you lightly slap your cheeks. Even though you haven't been able to relax for a second since opening, it's rewarding to know that all the hard work that your class put into the cultural festival has paid off. Atsumu hands you a plate and motions towards a nearby table. You pivot around, ready to deliver the food, but he stops you.
"We should take a break together in thirty minutes," he whispers, his breath on the nape of your neck. It sends shivers down your back. Embarrassed, you look away from him and scowl. He's obviously trying to make you flustered, but you do your best to hide your reaction.
Inhaling sharply, you glare at Atsumu and reply, "How about you stop being a creep and get some work done?"
He snickers and pinches your cheek.
"Good maids don't talk back to their masters."
Atsumu gives you a light push towards your table and waves at you. His lips curve into a sickly sweet smile.
He seems to be done messing around with you, and you roll your eyes to focus back on work. There's no point in getting bothered by him. Placing a plate down in front of your customer, you draw a heart on the omelette with ketchup. You sigh. Atsumu's still in the back of your mind, and you're starting to understand why. Searching around the room, you check and ask other customers if they need anything else.
Time passes by quickly, and your class manages to deal with the rush of customers. As you rest your head and lean against the wall, you feel someone grab your wrist. You can't catch a break.
