When the buses had arrived at the parking lot, the volleyball teams of both Nekoma and Fukurodani gathered to greet them.
"Kou," Akaashi whispers to his boyfriend, "please don't kill him".
Bokuto only responds by cracking his knuckles, staring at the players clad in blue-green colors.
"That guy needs to learn his lesson" He hisses, his golden eyes piercing through Seijoh's captain."Kou" Akaashi pleads, tugging at his jersey, giving him a peck on the cheek.
Blushing madly, Bokuto could only nod and stammer out a "f-fine".
"Oikawa Tooru," Nekoma's captain greets, shaking Oikawa's hand "So nice of you to accept our invitation" He says tersely, a tense smile on his face.
Oikawa's grip tighten's around the bed-head's hand. "Oh no," He shakes his head, giving him his signature smile "Thank you for inviting us, we really wanted to be here"
The teams shiver at the tension between the captains.
"Ah, Daichi-san," Kuroo greets, turning to Karasuno's captain, practically tearing his hand off Oikawa's.
"How nice to see you" The red-clad captain gives him a sharp, competitive smile that said, Yes how lovely, now prepare to be crushed.
Daichi sweatdrops as he shakes Kuroo's hand, thanking him for the invitation.
"HINATA-KUNNN! MEGANE-KUNN!!" Bokuto runs over to Karasuno to greet his kouhai, leaving Akaashi by himself.
Akaashi watches as all sorts of greetings happen around him.
Terushima Yuuji had already started spouting out cheesy pick-up lines to Karasuno's beautiful manager, Hinata-kun was already on Bokuto's shoulders shouting "I'm so TALL! UWAHH". The bald-heads from both Nekoma and Karasuno both crying tears of joy (he hoped). The coaches already downing a few canned beers, and Oikawa-Akaashi looked around. Where was Oikawa?
"Keiji-kun~"
ah. There he is.
Akaashi turned around to greet the captain. The group had already moved to the entrance doors, seeping inside.
They were the only ones left in the parking lot.
"Hello, shittykawa" He says, and the captain slings his arm around his shoulders.
Akaashi didn't really mind. He stopped trying to tear Oikawa's arm away a long time ago."So," Oikawa starts. "What do you think?"
Akaashi frowns slightly in confusion. "About what?"
"About this," Oikawa gestures to the chaotic scene before them. "I told you we made the right choices for our look-out team"
True.
The green-haired pinch server was keeping to himself, standing a few feet away from the salty blonde. Kageyama-kun was chugging down milk, and Kenma was standing silently next to his boyfriend as he scared the heck out of Karasuno's captain.Akaashi stays silent.
Tooru glances down at him."What's wrong?" He asks softly.
Akaashi shakes his head. "Nothing" he responds.
'Lies' Oikawa muses to himself.
Akaashi was like a brother to him, and the small owl slowly grew to be someone he held close to his chest and was comfortable with. Oikawa from time to time, liked to show brotherly affection through ways like braiding Akaashi's hair, cooking him lunch, and the occasional 'You know I'm here for you, right?'.They've been brothers since the day they met.
When Kiro had broken up with him, Akaashi ran to Oikawa for comfort.
That day, Oikawa had told him that Kiro 'is an ass that doesn't know how much he's missing out on'. He made him miso soup, warm milk, and let him stay the night.Akaashi found out how much of a good person and had learnt to trust him.
"Lies," Oikawa hums aloud. "Use your words, Keiji"
Akaashi doesn't look at him.
"I'm scared," He whispers, so softly, that Oikawa had nearly missed it."Of what?," He asks, even if he knew the answer.
"Of everything really," Akaashi fiddles with the hem of his Fukurodani jacket.
There's a pause.
"Do you think Bokuto will leave me?," Akaashi looks up to him with his pale green eyes.
"There's not that much to like" he says, looking back down at his shoes."I know Kou is a nice person," Akaashi quietly continues, "But I can't help but remember what had happened before".
Akaashi kicked the heel of his shoe in the gravel. "What had happened with Kir-"
Oikawa swept him into a hug, muffling the rest of that bastard's name.
"Don't" Oikawa hisses. "Don't say that name"
Akaashi nods, hugging him back, burying his face in the Seijoh jacket.
"Bokuto's a brilliant person, Akaashi," he says. "He won't leave"
Then he pulls away to hit Akaashi softly on the back of his head.
"And don't ever say that there isn't much to like about you" Oikawa scolds with fierce eyes, "Because there's everything to like"Akaashi sniffled, nodding.
"Yeah," Akaashi says, "Okay""Okay?" Oikawa asks.
"Okay" The black haired boy nods.
"Thank you, aniki" Akaashi says, using the endearing nickname he called him.
Big brother.
Oikawa lit up like a Christmas tree, swooping his baby brother up in a crushing hug."AW! KEIJI! THAT'S SO SWEET!"
Akaashi laughs, punching Oikawa's back.
"I TAKE IT BACK!" He yelps, "PUT ME DOWN, ANIKI!""NO! NEVER!"
"SHITTYKAWA!" Akaashi shrieks in laughter as Oikawa drops him before childishly sticking out his tongue.
They missed the eyes watching them from behind the entrance doors.
