Eleven Years Ago
"Hurry its starting!" Several silver streaked comets started to rain across the sky. Jezebel stared at them in awe.
"I'm here." Darius whispered with a smile.
"I wish I could have children." Jezebel murmured with a sad smile. At the age of twenty-seven the beautiful Jezebel, whom had the looks of a Greek goddess, was completely incapable of having children.
"We have enough already." Darius kissed her again but, this time more tenderly.
Suddenly the sky became lit up with a bright white comet heading straight toward them at phenomenal speed. Jezebel powered into Darius in fear and he hugged her tight and looked away. Because even the impact of where it hit the earth could kill them and the likelihood of survival was none.
The world was silent and they could see brightness behind their eyelids. When they opened their eyes they still sat on their lawn and before them was the comet, floating and smoldering at the size of a wheel barrel just before them. It gently touched the ground and the light went out. Then the rock ice and rock crumbled to ashes and blew away in a soft breeze.
The form of a young girl became visable and Jezebel gasped. She looked to be about four years old and was in a deep, peaceful slumber.
She was beautiful with long silver threads of silk hair with pale white skin with a slight, soft glow to it. Her black lashes were crescent moons against her slightly pink cheeks and her features perfectly set.
Jezebel leaned down for a closer look.
"My God, Darius we'be been sent an angel child." She caressed the girls cheek to find it impossibly smooth.
The girl's eyes flew open and were so dilated they looked completely black. Then her pupils shrunk down to reveal a bright, omniscient and silvery green iris.
"Mother?" Her voice was small and soft. Like music only sweeter. Jezebel looked to Darius for permission and he nodded.
"Course, what took you so long to get here honey?"
"I... don't know?"
"Well you're here now Claire, that's all that matters." Jezebel beamed.
"Claire..." She yawned. Then fell asleep in Jezebel's arms.
Jezebel looked to Darius, "This is a miracle! My wish came true!"
"Shouldn't we try to find her real parents first?" He asked.
"She fell from the sky Darius! If we tell anyone then scientists will take her away and make her an experiment... No. No.... We will keep her."
