Hi! This is the first chapter for this book and I wanted to start off by saying that these are just things I do to make my writing and things I think about! I know some writers struggle with confidence in their writing and I'm here to tell you writing is beautiful in all shapes and forms!

So, here are some tips on detailed writing.

⤞ Try to be as descriptive as possible. Describe the weather around them, the setting, how each character looks, their expression.

⤞ I like to write in Authors POV ( point of view ) because you can fit more detail and describe both characters at once. Also, I find it a lot easier to use they, he, she as oppose to I,Me, and We.

⤞ I feel like its a lot easier to tell both characters feelings, as to where you can't say the other persons feelings because your in one characters point of view

⤞ Describe their facial expressions. How their eyes look

⤞ Some examples { down below }

⤞ ' Her eyes looked dull staring out the window, watching as the rain fell, the light taps of the rain drops being the only audible sound in the room. Her face had seemed pale, her usual red and flushed cheeks were painted with her pale s/c. Her usual smile was replaced with a small frown, her brows furrowed together as if in deep thought.'

⤞^^^ notice how the words ' As if ' are used a lot. It helps me when writing because your not directly telling the reader how the character could be feeling but give them a general idea of their expression and paint the scene for them. ' As if ' is like a small clue or hint at their feeling and emotion without actually telling the reader what it is.

⤞ I like to use similes and metaphors when writing sometimes. This is so that the reader has something to compare what they're reading too, if that makes sense.

⤞ here's an example { down below }

⤞ ' His eyes gleamed with excitement like a child on Christmas morning waiting to open presents. His frantic running almost like someone rushing to see their favorite celebrity.'

⤞ As we all learned in school, Like and As are key words to use when comparing things. When you use a metaphor you don't use the words like or as and simply just compare. I tend to use more similes than metaphor's.

⤞ Switching point of views can help as well. This helps the reader get a better idea of the character and how they judge and see things. This tells a lot about the writers character development skills and how well the reader can predict the character.

⤞ of course, switching perspectives isn't everyone's cup of tea, but maybe write a couple of paragraphs and try it out first if your not sure about it. This way you get a feel of how it looks. When writing in a characters perspective, be sure to say and think things the character would say, not you, unless you are like the character.

⤞ when you write in someone's perspective, it's important to have them think a lot and give their opinions on things. Remember you want your reader to know about your character as much as possible, let them get a feel for the character. This makes the story more enjoyable.

⤞ let me know if there's anything else you'd like me to cover! Tips are also welcomed! I'm not the best writer either so I definitely try to improve my writing as much as I can.
