"No!" Naruto yells, his screams muffled in the rain, his pleading voice unheard by a particular raven. The mud squelched under his feet as he desperately reached out, his fingertips just touching Sasuke's clothes, as Naruto fell to his knees he watched Sasuke's figure walk out into the rain.
Naruto couldn't help but feel a heavy ache in his chest, a heavy pang that erupted. Warm, salty tears running down his face, merging with the rain. The rain-soaked Naruto, his blonde hair flattened and his figure shivering on the ground. The thunder and lightning flashed across the grey sky as the rain poured down harder, the wind howling as it pressed against Naruto's skin.
Naruto stood up, his cerulean blue eyes facing the sky, "SASUKE!" his distressed voice harmonized with the lightning and thunder. Naruto sighed, his breath visible in the cold, he touched his chest. The question Naruto asked was why? Why did it hurt so much?
His heartfelt heavy as he trudged back to the gates of Konoha. The guards gave him pitiful looks as they watched Naruto's figure walk slowly to his apartment.
Sakura ran up to Naruto her green eyes shining with worry, her heart dropped as he shook his head indicating that he was unable to get Sasuke to stay. The wind blew against Sakura's hair making it go to one side, they shared the same pain but on different levels.
"Naruto?" Sakura asked meekly, her eyes analyzed Naruto's body signs, he was shivering from the cold as his tanned skin was paling and his eyes were dull as it was cast to the ground.
"I'm sorry Sakura if I had fought him and won I would've been able to drag him back to the village, I was weak," Naruto spat out. Anger and sadness swallowing up his words. Emotions tumbled in and out of Naruto he was confused, why? Why did it hurt when Sasuke left?
Why did it hurt when Sasuke didn't give a second glance when he left?
Where they all just a burden to him and his ambitions?
'No matter where you go, or how far you go, I'll wait for you, I'll bring you back no matter what...Sasuke'
Sasuke didn't feel guilty, they were in the way of his dreams, his ambitions, he didn't know why, but he felt arrows piercing his heart. it wasn't physical but it was emotional.
He remembered how Naruto ran after him, calling out his name desperately as if he needed him as if he wanted him. Sasuke ran his fingers through his wet hair, his dark onyx eyes scanned the area, he spotted a cave not far off as he ran towards it he reached the cave, the rain thundering on top. Sasuke sighed, feelings weren't important, they were in his way.
- A few years later-
"Aye! Sasuke!" Naruto yelled out cheerfully, Sasuke sighed, and rolled his eyes as the blonde tackled him into a hug, Naruto's arms wrapped around Sasuke, who tried his best to pry the energetic blonde off of him.
"Hello, Sasuke!" Sakura was dolled up, her makeup perfectly done, her pink hair back in a headband, and she was wearing a pink and white dress. Sasuke tried to smile, which ended up horrible, almost like a smirk but Naruto and Sakura decided to let it slide.
Naruto watched as Sakura looped her arm through Sasuke's elegantly, her pink her blowing from the breeze, somehow the perfect image of Sasuke and Sakura was stained in Naruto's head. He couldn't get rid of the aching in his chest.
