"Please Kageyama, please don't cry, I'll be okay, okay? I'll come out of this okay and when I do I'll spike your sets like back then okay? I'll promise I'll be okay. I promise," Hinata's thumb carefully caressed over Kageyama's knuckles, his pained eyes watching the heartbreaking sight before him.

Kageyama almost laughed at how optimistic dense his little lover sounded. The raven looked up and nodded, trembling lips forcing their way up to another pained smile. He stared for a while, noticing how much his lover had faded away in the past few days- the illness had eaten his soul away, leaving an empty casket for Kageyama to protect until it was time for Hinata to close his eyes for good.

"Tobio?" Kageyama adverted his gaze to Hinata when he spoke, squeezing his hand gently in his own for him to continue, "Thank you for loving me, for being my first kiss, my first lover; thank you everything in life. Thank you for helping me improve in my volleyball... I'm sorry that I didn't go to the doctors sooner, I'm sorry Tobio."

Kageyama could tell by the way Hinata's voice wavered and trembled he could barely hold his composure, his lower lip trembling with regret. Kageyama shook his head and quickly comforted Hinata's quaking lips with his own, his larger hands moving to hold the cheeks of his lover, holding him close as he poured every adherence and fidelity into one silent kiss, not realizing that it'll be their last.

In the end, Hinata could barely survive the night in the hospital; Hinata couldn't keep his promise he made with Kageyama.

The sky was thick with grey clouds which looked just as saddened as Kageyama. They slipped their own saddened tears for the tall raven. His shoulders slouched forward, and his eye was focused on the cement beneath him.

The leaves were crisp and crunched beneath Kageyama's feet as he trudged down the small strips of green. His body was cold and his chest was tight with grief, slowly leaking out of his body the ways tears leaked from the clouds above. It hurt, and Kageyama was still bitter, it had been about six months.

Kageyama slowly kneeled to the most luscious part of the grass and slowly placed the bouquet of flowers he held in his hands that he loosely held between his fingers, down before the almost pristine tombstone. Kageyama's eyes glazed with nothing but pure dejection as he lightly traced his fingers over the protruding letters Hinata Shoyo.

It wasn't fair - this wasn't the ending he visioned.

Kageyama sat back down, and slowly laced his arms around his legs, resting his chin on his knee as he sat in silence. It was strange, months have passed, and yet it felt like a lie.

"I'm still waiting for you," Kageyama whispered, quietly, his voice entangled with distaste, he stared bitterly at the tombstone for a moment, his lower lip trembling as tears welled up in his eyes, threatening to spill any second, "You promised...You promised you, moron,"

A rumble of thunder was heard from above, as it echoed around the morbid scene. Kageyama could sense the distinct smell of rain, Hinata had died on a rainy day, Kageyama despised the rain beyond ends.

Kageyama looked up from his knees, expecting an answer and explanation two things that would never come.  Kageyama sighed heavily and reached up to dismissively brush away the tears that stained his pale complexion that seemed so dull. Ever since Hinata passed away Kageyama was always like this; Kageyama was lifeless - he was like empty vessel. He didn't find anymore joy in volleyball without Hinata.

Kageyama looked up into the sky and cracked a strained smile.

'I love you'

'I love you too Bakayama'
