Summary: You and your best friend (and former crush), Stanley, decide to go Trick or Treating as Veronica Sawyer and Jason Dean  from the movie "Heathers." However, at the end of the night, Stanley tells you some surprising information

Warnings: Language/ Cursing, fake blood, stealing(?)

"J.D. Are you ready?" I joke, walking downstairs and into the basement of Stanley's house. "Oh hey, how'd you get in?" He calmly asks, raising a brow as he grabs his leather jacket from the couch. "Uh- spare key under the doormat." I state as if it was obvious while walking over to him and fixing the jacket.

*for those of you who haven't seen Heathers, this is how you and Stanley are dressing*

"Not going to lie, Barber.. You look good in this jacket." I compliment, looking Stanley up and down before reaching into my purse and pulling out a small tube of fake blood. I open the tube, placing some of the 'blood' on my face, along with Stanley. He then rubs some of the 'blood' on his hand and sighs, "Okay I think we're ready." He announces, jokingly patting the fake bomb he had strapped to his body.

"Well then let's waste no more time, Jason." I joke, lacing my hand in Stanley's after grabbing a pillowcase for candy.

After a bit of wandering around the neighborhood, and me scaring kids into giving me their candy, Stanley and I approach a gas station. "Okay but you didn't actually have to take their candy." Stanley reasons, looking at the half- full bag. I shrug, "I guess it's my teen-angst bullshit." I quote, causing Stan to scoff and send me a small smile.

"Well Veronica, our love is God.. Let's go get a slushee." Stan suggests taking my hand in his nervously while entering the building. The man at the register eyes the two of us as Stanley drop his half full slushee cup. His eyes go wide as I cover my mouth to muffle a laugh. "Fuck." He mumbles, looking around and seeing the man from the register not around. "Okay quickly lets go.." He orders, handing me an extra large slushee cup. I frown as he pours my drink in the cup and urges me to fill it up the rest of the way.

"Cherry?" He asks, glancing at the flavor. I shrug, "Why not?" I respond as he walks away quickly and disappears into the snack aisle. Once I'm done placing the lid on the drink and grabbing straws, Stanley appears behind me, causing me to jump. "Geez Stan!" I exclaim, causing his eyes to widen. "Shh! He'll hear us!" Stan mumbles, causing me to frown, "Who?" I question as he grabs my arm and quickly pulls me to the building exit.

"Hey! Where are you two going?!" The man from the register yells, walking out from the back room with a hostile expression. Stanley quickly tugs me out of the store as we run towards the empty park nearby.

I let a laugh escape my throat as I smile. Once we reach the park, Stan let's out an exasperated sigh, sitting down on the bench.

"Do you think he'll call the cops?" I ask after a couple minutes of us both laughing. Stanley shakes his head, "his cameras aren't working and it's a small town. I doubt he cares that much. It probably happens often." He reasons, causing me to shrug. "He seemed mad." I mumble, offering Stan some skittles. He gladly takes them before grabbing the slushee from me and taking a sip. "See. The big cup was for us to share." He states in an obvious tone as a wave of realization hits me.

"That's makes more sense." I mumble while a comfortable silence falls over us. "How many times have we watched this movie?" Stanley asks after a couple minutes.

I furrow my brows while thinking until I finally remember. "Okay well I think at least ten times since the first time we watched it, I had come over that day because I realized that I had feeli-" Suddenly I stop in my tracks as my eyes widen. Stanley frowns, shifting positions to face me.

"Realized that you had..?" He presses, scooting a little closer to me and placing the slushee cup on the ground. "Oh I don't know." I mumble, causing him to chuckle. "Come on. I won't judge. Promise." Stanley assures, placing a gentle hand over mine, which causes my breath to hitch.

And here I was thinking the feelings were gone-

"I had come over that day because I realized that I had feelings for you." I mumble, looking down at my lap. I feel Stanley tense slightly as he pulls away.
"R-Really?" He asks, looking straight ahead.

I nod, running a hand through my hair.

"I have feelings for you too.." He says after a moment of  silence. My eyes widen as I quickly look up at Stanley, who gives me a small smile.

I grin softly, "Really?" I ask, sitting up straight and moving closer. Stan chuckles, placing his hands on each side of my face and pulling me in for a short, sweet kiss.

"Really."
