A brand new century. A brand new world. But, The Class Of 1864 is always revisited. Me, Britney Marie Salvatore is apart of that.

June 17th 1864:

- Britney's POV -

I am walking through the forest. Breathing in all the fresh air and the peace of quiet. I'm on my way to my special hide out to spend my birthday in peace. I like to call it The Shelter. It's where I go to write my poems and get some peace of mind back. I discovered this beautiful cottage just after the shed incident. That incident hasn't left my mind since, it's stuck there like super glue. My heart starts to race when I think of what my father is capable of. I am really scared of him.

Anyways, the shelter is my way with coping with terrible situations. Like the one that happened last night. My father pinned me down on the table and burnt me all over my body with the burning hot candle. He said some really mean things to me. Things that I won't forget any time soon. Well, I'm trying to forget as I walk through the empty forest. Embracing the cool foggy morning.

I take a deep breath and stop when I see the beautiful old fashioned cottage in front of me. It's been abandoned for a long time but the furniture is still in there so I use that. I also found a un-used text book so that's what I use to write my poems in. The reason why I write poems is because I want to become a famous poet.

"Happy birthday, Britney." I say to myself then I walk over to the door and open it. I walk in and go over to light a lantern. Then, I go over to the couch and pick up my text-book. I then go over to the desk and sit on the chair. I pick up the pen and dap it in the ink tray. A smile creeps up on my face when I start to write a poem.

Poetry is my escapism and I adore it.

- Victorian's POV -

"Katherine, are you serious right now?" I snap at her. I have just found out that she is still going ahead with the deal that Clarke and the dream catcher proposed to her. To say I am fuming would be a under statement. Who gives them the right to take someone's life away? It's scandalous. Britney is such a special girl who deserves basic human rights. Not to be turned into a vampire then thrown out of existence.

She turns around to look at me and says "I need to erase Klaus and if Britney is the thing that's going to give me that then," she flips her hair "everything is splendid."

No, it's not splendid Katherine. I can't believe what's coming out of her mouth right now. You are saying that swiping someone from existence is 'splendid' that is just terrible. I look at her and say "No, Katherine. Britney is not a thing she is a human being who has been through hell and back. You of all people should know that."

Katherine chuckles which makes me angry inside. How can she be so heartless over this? She had her life taken away from her and you'd think that she'd understand but no, The Dream Catcher and Clarke got into her head.

She rolls her eyes and says "Why are you so protective towards Britney Salvatore?" She moves closer to me with a manipulative look in her eyes "Is there something you're not telling me?"

There is, I have a crush on Britney Salvatore. Her bravery and strong will makes my heart dreamy. Plus, her smile makes the night sky light up like a thousand lamps in the sky. She's adorable. But, Katherine doesn't have to know that. She'll only use it against me.

So, I look into her face with anger visible in my eyes and say "No." then I get up and storm out of the door. She's going to be so mad at me for doing that but I don't care.
