"We have to go. NOW!" Wrenching him from the corpse we burst through the doors.
Enemy soldiers lined the streets; Like children at a school assembly. All guns pointed at us.
No options.
No back up plans.
No escape.
The thumping of boots echoed in the silence. A heavy figure strode up behind us. Cool metal brushed against my head.
"BANG"
Max plunged to the ground. The same blood halo framing his features as Amelia.
A black coat over a broad frame, a silver mask hiding his face from view.
My mind shattered further. I sank to my heels staring unblinkingly ahead.
This man does not get to see me cry.
He does not deserve to see me cry.
