Where the east lands meet the sea, one would find the small but prosperous kingdom of Yokohama.

Its culture was vibrant, it had a prosperous foundation and economy, one of the strongest army forces in the east, it had the least crime rate (if crimes ever appeared, they were extinguished very quickly even though legend has it that the crimes in Yokohama were very dangerous), and best of all, it was home to very ancient magic.

Nobody has seen a single trace of magic nowadays ever since the Dragon's Head Conflict, the most devastating event in the history of Yokohama. But they knew there used to be the wonder of magic. Because of the royal family and the most prized record of Yokohama's history, the Thousand Tales.

For centuries, the royal family of Yokohama were the only ones who possessed real magic like in the Thousand Tales. The most powerful so far is the present-day royal family.

The Thousand Tales reminded the people that there used to be wonder and dreams made true, holding the stories and memories of the past. It told them tales about any and all forms of magic that appeared in Yokohama when it was born, of ghosts and sorcerers and genies and faeries and demons and monsters and dragons and beasts that reveled beneath the light of the moon.

Today, a new thousand-and-first tale was added to the collection.

And that is the story of the ancient demon Arahabaki and its royal host, the genie of the most powerful source of magic in existence, a street urchin who becomes entrusted with many secrets, and the mysterious being who is a beast and man by twilight.
