"He felt a big surprise before it caught his eyes.
Oh, it was between his face...
Oh, on his pillowcase..."

Renato had understood by now, they will follow him everywhere... They will never leave him alone. He quickly glanced towards the doorway of the terrace he was standing on... No, they haven't arrived yet... but he can feel they were coming for him... He could sense it in his spine, he could hear the almost inaudible cackling sound they make when they are hungry, hungry for blood and flesh.

Renato was drenched in his own sweat. His white shirt was almost translucent from his perspiration. He knew he has reached the end of the line. A drop of tear rolled down his cheeks as he remembered the warmth of Juliana's smile... The beautiful memories they had shared... The long walks in the Ibirapuera park. He wished that he could go back to her arms for one more time before everything was finished, before everything turned black.

Things were so much better a year ago. He was a happy man back then. He had everything he wanted, the love of his life beside him, a steady fair-pay job and a nice apartment. But disaster strikes at the most unexpected hour. The disaster that made his life into a living hell. Now he could hear the faint sound of their footsteps... the foul smell from their bodies started to spread across the whole terrace... They were here!

"God, why have you forsaken me?", muttered Renato as he stood on top of a 30-storey apartment in Sao Paulo.

He closed his eyes. Took a deep breath.

Without any hesitation, He jumped. He fell to his death.
