Leaning against Dan’s chest, we were both lying on his bed. Phil was out for the day meaning that we had the apartment to ourselves. All I was doing was just lying there while Dan slept. Right now, I felt the safest I had felt in a long while.

I smiled looking up at Dan to see he was still asleep. He had spent hours trying to calm me down after the incident. I felt sorry for him, it wasn’t fair on Dan having to sort me out. Closing my eyes slightly I smiled thinking how lucky I was to be here.

“Mmm.” Dan quietly moaned and pulled me closer to his chest. “Morning.”

“Good morning.” I smiled at him, “Hobbit hair.” I chuckled.

“Leave my hobbit hair alone.” He pouted which caused me to laugh more.

“It’s cute.” I sat up looking at him with a smile on my face. “Phil’s out you know.”

“He is?” I nodded with a smile on my face before squealing as Dan flipped us over. He smiled looking down at me.

“What?” I looked at him. “Dan what is it?”

“Did I ever tell you that you are beautiful?” He smiled at me.

I blushed, “Every night before we go to sleep.” He tucked a strand of hair behind my ear.I started to breathe hard as my eyes focused on his lips.

He leant down and gently pressed his lips to mine.

——

“I don’t want to move.” I whined looking at Dan smiling. He was still panting.

“Do you have any idea when Phil will be home?” I shook my head looking at him, “We’ll have to move before he comes home.”

“You Mr. Howell are evil.” I laughed leaning on his chest pulling the covers up more.

“If I was evil, I’d pull the covers off you.” He chuckled in my ear.

“Don’t you even dare.” I glared at him. “That would make you evil.” I kissed him before settling back into his chest sighing happily.

“Well, I’m going to go in the shower.” He started to move, “Maybe you should see where Phil is and tell him to get some food.” I watched him get out of bed.

“You’ll be the death of me one day Mr. Howell.” I leaned over and grabbed my phone off the bed side table.

“I hope not Miss. Lester.” He smiled as he grabbed his clothes. “It’s a good job the blinds are closed.” I laughed almost dropping my phone on my face.

“You’d probably give the neighbours a heart attack.” I smirked at him. “But you’re all mine.”

“Of course.” He smiled walking over to the bed kissing me. “I won’t be long.”

“You best not be.” I smiled watching him, “I’ll be right here.” He left the room and I closed my eyes leaning back into the pillows. Scrolling through my phone contacts, I dialled Phil’s number.

“Hi, you’ve reached Phil. I’m not able to come to the phone at the moment so leave a message after the rawr… Rawr.” I rolled my eyes.

“It’s only me you goofball.” I sighed, “You always answer the phone to me.” I looked at the clock, “What time will you be home? Dan wants to know if you’re bringing food home. I guess I’ll see you when you get in. I love you.” I hung up putting my phone on the bed. It wasn’t like Phil to not answer his phone. I sighed getting off the bed and decided to put one of Dan’s shirts on.

“Dan?” I called out as I left the bedroom, “Phil didn’t answer his phone.” Silence. “Dan?” I called out again. “Are you okay?” Still nothing. I started to walk to the bathroom. “Dan?”

I held myself as I continued walking. There was something wrong about this. First Phil didn’t answer my phone call and now Dan wasn’t answering me. Maybe he’s still in the shower, I thought. I walked to the bathroom door to hear the shower was still running and the faint sound of singing. I was worrying for nothing it seemed.
