“Please Pepper?”  Tony begged as they walked down the long hallway leading to Pepper’s office at Stark Tower.

“No.” she replied, paying no attention to his pleas, as she continued to walk down the long stretching hallway. “We have actual work that needs to be done today, Tony.”

He sighed heavily. ‘It looks like we’re doing this the hard way’ he told himself. He circled around her, stopping directly in front of her forcing her to a halt. He grabbed her arms in his hands and looked into those deep blue oceans she called eyes.

“I don’t care about paperwork and meetings, they’re all so boring! I am Iron Man! I need excitement! I need adventure! I need- ”

A frown appeared on her face, almost as if to say: If-You-Say-I-One-More-Time-I-Will-Literally-Hurl-Something-At-Your-Head. His charms were doing nothing to appeal to her. ‘Better pull out the big guns.’ He thought.

“-  a little time alone to pamper and smother my beautiful girlfriend in love and affection.” He said as he put on his best puppy dog eyes and pouted his bottom lip.  ‘Nice save.’ He continued “Imagine just the two of us in Paris, drinking champagne, eating cheese, standing on the Eiffel Tower at sunset, all that romantic crap that girls love, right? C’mon Pep. We deserve a vacation.”

It was true, they hadn’t spent much time alone together since Fury decided to turn Stark Tower, THEIR baby, into an Avenger’s Inn. All the guys were staying there, Clint, Tasha, Bruce, and Steve, and of course Tony and Pepper. Stark tower was big enough to accommodate all of them, sure. They all lived in luxury. But any place with that many occupants is sure to leave little room for privacy. It was supposed to be only temporary, until S.H.I.E.L.D. could get a handle on the whole Loki, alien invasion chaos that happened.

Things were going great at first, until Thor showed up with Loki. He was stripped of his power, of course, so that he didn’t hurt anyone, but that didn’t mean that anyone couldn’t hurt HIM. Their father, Odin, evidently thought it was a good idea for Loki to spend a little time with the humans. He thought Loki might learn compassion, empathy, maybe even love. But what he didn’t take into account was the fact that he was putting him in a place filled with the most powerful people on earth who also happen to hate him. Nice job Odin.

Loki wasn’t that much of a burden though. He stayed to himself most of the time, and hardly talked to anyone, and if he did, it was only to make little snide comments here and there. The only person he wouldn’t talk back to was Bruce. He supposed getting Hulk smashed, especially without his powers, would be less than enjoyable. Much less.

It was mainly the others who made the commotion. Tasha and Clint were always arguing, Thor was always breaking things. First the TV remote, then the kitchen sink, and the dining room table. Steve just never stopped complaining about the old days, and how things are so different now. “Back in my day…” was pretty much his motto. Bruce was pretty quiet for the most part, but when he and Tony got together and started talking all that science mumbo jumbo, it was almost unbearable. So it is an understatement to say that they are in need of a vacation.

She still paid no attention to Tony’s request. ‘Someone has to be the responsible one in this relationship.’ She reasoned.  She kept on walking.

“I know it’s all boring to you Tony, but that’s why you have me remember? So that I can do your job for you, now please let me do it!” He knew he had zero chance of persuading her now, not when she got this stubborn. When Virginia Potts puts her foot down, it stays down.  “Go do science with Bruce or something until the lawyers get here for the conference.”

‘Oh crap, the meeting!’ he thought to himself. He had forgotten all about it. The look on his face gave him away.

“You forgot? Big surprise.” She mumbled.
