Dixie and Kairi paid for same day delivery so that meant that the package was already sent to Alejandro. Kairi sighed. Why was he waiting for something to happen? It's not like Alejandro would be interested in a random guy confessing his weird love for him anyways.

Kairi tossed his phone aside, gazing outside his window. He lived alone in New Jersey; his parents couldn't handle the city life so, they moved over to the countryside, paid for Kairi's house, and sent Kairi a monthly check of $500. Yes, they were well off and and retired but, they still saved up money.

Just as Kairi was lost in his thoughts, his phone illuminated beside him, casting a bright glow in the dark. Kairi's eyes averted from the window to his phone, mind peaked in interest.

A random number popped up on the screen and Kairi opened up the message.

Hey, is this Kairi?

Kairi frowned, wondering if he should reply or not. Well, what's the worst that could happen? If it was a weird stranger or a random pedo, then he would simply block them. Easy peasy.

Yes, who is this?

It's Alejandro

Kairi choked on air, dropping his phone on his bed. Never in a million years would he think that Alejandro would text him. Kairi was so surprised that he fell off the side of his bed, eyes ballooned out on shock. Kairi steadily got up and pounced on his phone.

Kairi bit his lip, trying to suppress the happy giggles and butterflies racking his body. His fingers flew across the screen and then Kairi paused, with his thumb hovering over the send button. He reread his message and then cringed, immediately deleting it. After a few minutes of having a text block, Kairi just sent whatever came to mind.

Omg, wait. This can't be real. Did you actually read the letters? God, this is embarrassing.

Yeah, I read the first 2 letters. Why didn't you just tell me at school?

Kairi rolled his eyes. Alejandro acted as if it were so easy, confessing to one of the most notorious boys at his school with a 90% rejection rate.

Not everyone has your confidence. Blame it on social anxiety

Well, now I know. You really did all of that for me?

Pfft. Don't get flattered, I have a whole entire shrine dedicated towards Harry Styles. But yeah, you had me entranced all throughout my life. Thanks for wasting 4 years of my life, monkey

Wait a damn minute. Imma just pretend that you didn't insult me. Did you just say you have a shrine for Harry Styles-

well, it's just a Pinterest wall of his pictures-

Kairi glanced at his Pinterest board wall, scattered with little aesthetic print-outs. There was a little candle, watermelon-scented, lit just for Harry. You could say it was a shrine.

das cap.

why don't you come over and see it for yourself?

Kairi smiled as he hit the send button and threw his phone aside on his bed. Kairi grabbed the nearest stuffed animal on his bed, a pastel green bunny plush, and buried his face into it, muffled his fangirling screams.

Kairi didn't know what kind of confidence came over him but, it felt like a step towards the right direction. As the night wore on, Kairi's face was fixed on a wide grin, illuminated by the light on his phone. Kairi had never felt this way. Every time he saw those 3 dots pop up, Kairi would wait in anticipation for Alejandro's text.

Cupid sat on Kairi's bed, mirroring Kairi's cheerful expression. He knew now for sure that the couple were destined to be together. Maybe there was a chance that Fate intertwined their lives.

As Kairi burrowed into his blanket and fell asleep, Cupid pulled out the same glass vial that he used on Mattia. He dipped the arrowhead into the potion and nocked the arrow.

"Mattia Polibio," he whispered as the arrow turned into a pastel pink color.

He let go of the arrow as it whizzed through the air, exploding into a pink dust bomb that coated Kairi's body, infusing him with the enchanted material.

When Kairi went to sleep that night, he couldn't help but let out a dreamy sigh. How was he so lucky right now? After years of hiding and shyness, he finally talked to Alejandro. It was like everything in life was perfectly pieced together.

a/n:

note- Cupid can be in multiple places at once. He can travel wherever he wants to in multiple forms so, he was watching Mattia and Kairi at the same time. I hope this clears up some confusion

sorry for not updating in a while, I'm still trying to form a good plot for this book
