Seven: This fragile love

This part is the story that Yoongi's grandfather told him. You can skip if you want but this will give a little insight into Yoongi's past.

"There once was a little boy. He lived in Germany during the Nazi regime, his family was Jewish. He himself was gay. He liked other men."

Yoongi's grandfather paused, and took a steady breath.

"He never told anybody. But soon his parents were forced into work, they were transported to concentration camps. I didn't end up there. I was a strong little boy, maybe fourteen years old, and managed to take down three Nazi soldiers.

They didn't like that. I was sent off by train. When I got off the train, I was face to face with training corps. Hitler stood at the doors of the train. He looked me up and down. Hitler. . .led me to his office, and offered me a deal. I become a soldier, or my parents die immediately."

Yoongi always teared up at this point. He knew what happened after the first time hearing the story.

"I ended up training to save my parents. Life wasn't easy for my family. I worked all day, and my parents were beaten, and tortured everyday. After a week. . .I was informed that my father had died.

He lasted a week. I was allowed to visit my mother at that time. As I entered her living area, I was hit with the smell of burning flesh. A disgusting and putrid smell. After I left that day, I was informed my mother had lasted a month."

His grandfather sighed,

"I decided to work harder. Become stronger and fight my way out. As I trained, I was outed by a fellow soldier. Outed as gay.

I received less food after that, got insulted, and an upside down triangle patch was sewn into my uniform. Informing everyone of my queerness."

As years past, Yoongi saw his grandfather grow older. Every weekend Yoongi would want to hear that story. His grandfather would always smile, and make cookies for him.

"Yoongi-yah, never hide your true self. It isn't worth the wait to be happy."

His mother and father didn't like having Yoongi at his grandfathers house, afraid of him becoming gay. They always voiced their opinions, and had Yoongi wear a mask as to not catch the homosexuality.

Yoongi of course would take it off immediately. He knew his family was filling his head with bullshit. And he knew that he liked men anyways. As soon as he came out to his grandfather he was accepted and told not to tell his parents. They would not let him visit.

Until his grandfather died.

Yoongi wrote down the story he would tell every week, and put it into his notebook.

After the funeral, he came out to his parents.

Big mistake.

Out of their disgust, he met Hoseok.

And he knew that his grandfather approved.

He would never forget grandpa Phillip.
