Dead to me: Jaydick (Redwing pt 3)

Recap!

The following is a recap of what happened in the past two books so go read those if you haven't already. But it's cool if you don't want to, so just read this so you understand. Obviously spoilers.

Book 1: Redwing (Jaydick)

Dick gave up being Robin and Jason took over. Dick always blamed himself for not being there when Jason died. He became Nightwing. He went after the Joker but was outmatched. Luckily he was saved by Batman. Dick starts to beat up the Joker, just like he did with Jason, but Batman stops him from killing him and Dick is angry because Bruce wouldn't kill the Joker. 5 years later, a new crime boss emerges, called Red Hood. Dick sees someone stalking him and realizes that it was the Red Hood, however he was too far for Dick to chase. Jason ran away, crying. He knew that it was risky but, Dick was his best friend. The Joker escaped Gotham and Jason went after him. Dick and Bruce caught up with them. Nightwing went after Red Hood while Batman went after the Joker. (Jason doesn't know that Dick is Nightwing) Nightwing is contemplating whether or not he should just let the Red Hood go after the Joker, since he wants him dead for killing Jason. Ultimately he decides against it and Red Hood attacks Nightwing. Red Hood's helmet got knocked off in the fight, but he still wore a mask. Nightwing ends up on top of Red Hood but gets distracted when he calls him hot. Red Hood ends up on top of Nightwing then kisses him. He whispers to meet him at a hotel and he just gets up and walks away. Nightwing was really confused and he didn't know what to do. Red Hood waits impatiently at the hotel where he told Nightwing to meet him. He was beginning to doubt that he was even going to show up and got angry and embarrassed with himself. But Nightwing does show up (they're both wearing masks to protect their secret). After sleeping with him, Nightwing regrets it, yes, to him it was amazing but, he just sleep with an enemy. He tried to leave multiple times but Red Hood kept stopping him and made Nightwing promise to come back and he did. Jason was confused with his feelings, he knew that it could've just been a one night stand, but he wanted more. Dick, knew that it was wrong with the enemy, but it felt so good. Again, at his apartment he sees the Red Hood, but couldn't chase him. Dick is scared that the Red Hood somehow found out who he is. Later, Nightwing goes to the hotel to call whatever they have off. But, it doesn't go as planned and they end up sleeping with each other again. One week has passed and Nightwing and Red Hood are a thing, even if they don't know each other's identities. Red Hood gets a tip from someone who knows where the Joker is. But it was a trap and the building blows up. Red Hood is seriously injured, he knows that he can't go to the hospital since he is a crime boss and technically he's dead. So he figures that his best shot is to go to Dick Grayson, even if that means he has to reveal that one, he's alive and two he's a villain. The Red Hood comes to Dick's apartment, bleeding and badly injured. Dick was about to ask how he knew that he was Nightwing but before he could, Red Hood removes his helmet and reveals that he is Jason Todd. He explains that he was brought back by the lazarus pit. It hit Dick that, for the past week, he's been fucking his best friend. Dick didn't want to tell Jason that he is Nightwing because he thought that it'd be really weird. He decides to call it off with Red Hood. But this time he was smart and left him a note instead. Jason is angry and goes out to blow off some steam. He was tracking the Joker but, finds Harley Quinn instead. He almost kills her but NIghtwing stops him. Red Hood is angry and starts shooting at Nightwing, he got shot in the shoulder. Bruce intervenes however Red Hood escapes. Jason is in a bad place and calls Dick over to his hotel room. Jason is drunk and Dick tries to be there for him. But then Jason starts hitting on him and things go from there. Dick is reluctant at first but then he sleeps with him. The next morning, Dick regrets everything but Jason doesn't. Jason sees that Dick's arm is injured and remember that he shot Nightwing in the arm, he doesn't say anything. Later that day, he sneaks into Dick's apartment only to find Nightwing's escrima sticks. Dick comes in and tries to explain himself but Jason is too angry. Jason finds the Joker and beats him and is about to shoot him but Dick catches up and stands in Jason's way (literally!). Jason fires his gun thinking that Dick is going to move out of the way, but he doesn't. Dick wakes up at the batcave with Jason next to him. Dick realized that he always loved Jason, and he tells him that but Jason turns him down and leaves. Jason lied, he did love Dick but he knew that he was just going to keep hurting him. Dick chases after Jason and realized that Jason lied and he did love him. But Jason kept insisting that Dick was in love with a monster. Jason finds the Joker again and hold the gun at him but before he could shoot, someone else shoots the Joker. It was Dick, he didn't want Jason to be a killer and he knew that the Joker had to die. But, Bruce. shows up and holds a gun up at Jason. Dick tries to talk him down but Bruce shoots Jason, forcing Dick to throw a punch. Jason and Dick both manage to escape. Jason wants to turn himself in for all the crimes he has done as Red Hood, but Dick doesn't let him. So instead he plans to leave Gotham, alone. But, Dick insists on going with the man he loves.

Book 2:Forever Apart: Jaydick

Jason learns that his best friend Roy Harper died. He goes after the people who are responsible and kills them all. Batman gets there too late when he sees all the bodies. He then convinces the Flash to go back in time and and this time makes sure that Jason never died. Jason wakes up in Titan tower, however he remembers everything of the old timeline but nothing of the new one. Once he figured out where he was, he went to look for Dick. But, he sees Dick and Wally going at it and he's heartbroken but Dick doesn't know anything about it and Jason decided not to ruin it for him. Jason gets a flashback from this new timeline. Dick got fired from being Robin and Jason was upset for blaming Dick and he, too left. Jason left with Dick to seek advice from a good friend, Superman. He told him the story of Flamebird and Nightwing. Jason thought that it was a dream but it wasn't. He found his journal and read some of the stuff. He couldn't believe any of it was true. Dick remembered something from the previous timeline. It was the memory of him confessing his love to Jason. Like Dick, he thought it was a dream and he was upset with himself for thinking about another guy. The Titans get a mission to save the city. However Jason sees that it is the Red Hood and gets distracted. He gets shot. The Titans secure the threat and take Jason back to the tower. Dick sees that Jason was covered in large scars and Jason makes up an excuse (since he got it from being beaten to death with the crowbar) and Dick could tell he was lying. Dick gets upset and leaves. Wally tells Jason that the timeline is screwed up. Wally thinks that they should fix the timeline but Jason doesn't want to fix it. He thinks that Dick has a better life now, plus his two friends, Wally and Roy, are alive. Wally breaks up with Jason because he feels like he was living a lie. After the break up, Dick goes out drinking, which he doesn't normally do. He gets drunk and hooks up with a guy, with a batarang tattoo and gets interrupted by someone. Before, Wally tells Jason that he broke up with Dick. Jason gets angry with Wally for hurting Dick. He tracks down Dick to a hotel and interrupts them. He forces the stranger to leave. Dick then kisses Jason but he shoves him away and says that it is a mistake. But Dick pressures him and eventually Jason gives in. Jason regrets it the next morning and leaves. Dick chases after Jason and sees him kissing Tim. But what he didn't know was that Jason kissed Tim just to push him away. Dick called the stranger that he hooked up with, Will, to meet up. They started dating which pushed Jason and Wally out of Dick's head. The Titans go another mission but Dick is still nowhere to be found. Jason rushes into battle, without thinking and gets kidnapped by the new Red Hood. Jason notices that the whoever he was, he was angry with Jason. Red Hood mentions that he will kill Dick Grayson and Jason acts out in anger and rage. He knew the identities of all the Titans and the Bat Family. The Red Hood yells at Jason and reveals that he is Jason's older brother. He took off his helmet and Jason realizes that it was the guy that Dick almost hooked up with ( Jason doesn't know that he is dating Dick). He said that if Jason worked for him, he will not share the identities of Dick's friends and he agrees. All the Titans have been trying to get Dick back, but he wouldn't come back. Until, Wally told him that Jason was kidnapped. Jason learns from Bruce that he did have a brother, who was kidnapped by the Penguin right after Jason was born and Will blamed Jason. However in the old timeline, his brother was so angry that he followed him everywhere, learning every aspect of his life. He died when Jason died in the explosion. Dick drove to Titans Tower and finds out that Jason came back. Dick gives him a hug and Jason is confused, he thought that Dick hated him. But Dick told him that he loves him as a brother. Jason tells everyone that he's quitting the Titans in order to protect them. Jason finally gives in and tells Dick about the timeline change and everything. Dick gets angry and yells at Jason for not fighting for him. Dick kisses Jason and immediately regrets it and says he has a boyfriend but doesn't mention who. Jason asks if he could meet Dick's new boyfriend to make sure he's good for him. Jason meets Dick's boyfriend and realizes that he is his brother. Jason gets alone with Dick and tries to convince him that he has to break up with him. Dick thinks that he is just jealous and gets upset with him. Suddenly, Will shoots Dick and kills him. Jason was fulled with rage and goes after Will and gets beaten. Then, Will shoots Jason too and he dies. Suddenly Jason remembers something. He had a memory that Dick had proposed to him. Turns out that the timeline was fixed and Jason was remembering the new events. But, he woke up from it and doesn't know where he is. Suddenly, someone comes into his room and sees that it is Damian. He breaks down crying and Jason tries to comfort him. He tells Jason that Dick is dead. Jason tries to understand what was happening. He pieced together that the timeline was fixed, most likely by Batman trying to save both of his sons. Jason found Bruce forced him to tell him what was going on. He learns that Dick dies at the hands of Lex Luthor. Turns out that Dick died but was actually revived and Bruce say this as a chance for him to go undercover. He couldn't tell anyone else that he was alive.
