Lunch could not have been more strained. Hermione groaned, wishing Draco would just drop it.
His gaze softened, "Darling, I'm just worried about you."
She forced a smile, "I know, but let me handle it."
Stepping out of the restaurant, they disapparated to the Ministry.
Draco walked Hermione back to her office, he playfully shoved her, and she did the same.
Their smiles faltered and left their faces completely at the sight of the wizard standing by Brenda.
Ryan was bent over Brenda's desk, trying to engage her conversation.
The usually friendly girl looked uncomfortable, and Hermione felt the need to protect the young woman.
Draco narrowed his eyes frustratingly.
Ignoring Ryan, Draco took Hermione's hand in his and went inside the office.
Knowing they were in full view of the visiting incorrigible fucktard, he pulled her to him and kissed her long and hard in front of a perplexed and fuming American.
Breaking the kiss, Draco dropped a quick one to the base of her throat and huskily rasped, "I'll see you later, darling."
Flustered, breathless and pink in the cheeks, Hermione swallowed hard and nodded.
"Don't expect her back too early," Ryan quipped mockingly, walking into the small office.
Draco grabbed Ryan's arm on the way out, his fingers dug into the man's dress robes dangerously, and he hissed, "Are we going to have a fucking problem, mate?"
Ryan pulled his hand loose, braved a look at Hermione and replied, "Of course not."
Draco followed his gaze, and fiery red anger clouded his vision, "Keep your eyes to yourself."
"Afraid of a little competition?" Ryan challenged with a sneer.
Laughing sarcastically at the man's comment, Draco leaned forward and replied darkly, "It's amusing that you would even consider yourself competition."
Leaning in closer, he whispered threateningly, "You have been warned, I won't tolerate you or your bullshit."
Draco turned to smirk at Hermione and stormed out, giving Brenda a bright smile as he passed, making her blush as always.
