It was getting dark....where was she? My teeth chattered as a cold wind stung my face. I wrapped my jacket around me tighter and dug around in my pocket until my fingers curled around a small box.
"Callum!",Said a sweet voice.

"Sorry I'm late, my parents thought I was crazy going out in January and. Especially on m...",
I pulled Rose in for a kiss.
"Happy Birthday babe",I presented her with my messily wrapped present.
"You didn't have too...",She began
"Yes...yes I did", I interrupted. Rose always complained when I got her something, she said it empties my pockets unnecessarily, and it did empty my pockets, but not unnecessarily.
I watched as she carefully unwrapped the box, uncovering a small salmon jewellery box. Inside was a necklace with the words "Callum" on them. From the look of confusion on her face I showed her my bracelet which said "Rose" on it.
"I got the other half. If you put them together it makes a whole heart.", And I showed her.
"Sorry if you don't like it, I know it's soppy but..." I mumbled
"I love it you idiot!" And we kissed once again.
After what seemed like hours, I looked at my watch.
"Oh god, I have to go Rose, like now. "
"Why? Can you not stay a little longer?" She pouted in protest.
"Sorry babe, but Chief has an important announcement and if I'm late they will get suspicious." I kiss her quickly and walk away.
