I watched as he walked away. Without looking back. I wonder if he still loves me? When is he going to tell the outcasts about us? When am I going to tell my family in the city? I feel like our relationship is hanging by a thread.
A rustling from the bushes unsettles me. I could be being watched. I better head back quickly. I pick up my pace until I'm almost sprinting. My adrenaline bubbling to boiling point. Then the trees disappear and the night sky opens up. The sky is clear and I catch my breath as I look at them. They are beautiful. I wonder if my brother is looking down at me. Would he understand how I feel about Callum? Heck. Does anyone?
I place my hand on the pad and the doors slide open. My mum rushes in.
" For Gods sake Rose! Where the hell have you been? I've been worried sick!"
I sigh
"I told you mum... I went on a walk", I say frustrated. Same question every time. Every single time.
She frowns
"Well, sit by the warmer for a minute honey before you freeze."
I walk over to the screen and click on. A fire suddenly appears on the screen, releasing hot air into my face.
I click on my IPhone.

"Mum, for my birthday have I got the IPhone 12? Apparently it has x-Ray vision!"
My mum smiles at me.
"Rose honey, we will open your presents when your Dad comes home. K?"
"Okay."
"Oh and Rose?",
"Yeh mum?"
"Your seventeen, so you shouldn't be excited over a silly little thing like a phone." She smiled and snuggled next to me on the sofa. I yawned.
"K, mum" and I slowly drifted to sleep..
