𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒇𝒊𝒗𝒆. 𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒄𝒐𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒆AND there they were. sitting in george's small car, together. anastasia took in the scent. it smelt like his cologne, comforting but indescribable. it smelt like him, that's how she would describe it. he looked at her in the state she was in. her head was rested against the window frame, looking around at all the details of the car. looking at everything except him.
"alright, address?" he spoke out first. anastasia thought for a few seconds, she looked almost as if she was fighting a battle in her head. she sighed and directed her face to george. they stared into each other's eyes causing a luminous light to form. it wasn't coming from the street lights outside, but instead was produced by the strength between them. the glisten shared between their eyes was inevitable. "i- i don't remember." liar. anastasia was still intoxicated, but she wasn't drunk enough to not remember her address.
george took a breath in and looked away from her, feeling helpless with the limited options he had. "let's drive through the city." anastasia broke the underlying silence. the silence was sharp, but it wasn't tension. george thought for a second, but he didn't know how to react.
"you said you were new here right?" anastasia asked. so—many—questions. "yeah, about six months now." george rested his head on the palm of his hand, imitating the girl next to him. "me too. although i moved here from a suburb, away from the city." true. anastasia, jeremy and jade wanted to go somewhere far away, from all the high school bullshit. they wanted a fresh start.
"then we should explore."
george was thinking, but he didn't know what he was thinking about. he looked back at her, seeing that she was indefinitely staring at him. when he looked at her, that's when he knew. it was like there was a gravitational sign from the universe that was urging him to the decision he was about to make. he felt all control that he had arise from his own body.
on the other hand— anastasia was still drunk, that probably makes up for the spontaneous act. anastasia, at this moment gave complete zero fucks.
"i'll take you home before morning."
anastasia let out a shriek of joy, jolting up from her downright position and feeling complete exhilaration.
"i'm anastasia."
"i'm george."
they stared at each other once more, before bursting out into laughter. "well george.. i still like mr british." anastasia smiled, eyes not leaving each other's faces. "hold on aren't you still drunk?" george question, pulling a face causing anastasia to laugh even more. she placed her hands onto his cheek and replied, "well george— sometimes you gotta fake it till you make it." she then softly slapped his face in a playful manner, causing george to open his mouth in astonishment. "in this case, you gotta just fake being sober. it's actually something jeremy taught me when i turned eighteen. i couldn't get caught by my parents of course." she carried on, but george was listening.
