ANASTASIA held her head in her hands, fingers intertwined in the roots of her hair. "calm down, it looks fine ana" jade sighed, eyes fixated on the girl in front of her. it was about twelve in the afternoon and jade finished all her classes for the day. she decided to support anastasia while she worked on her art piece.

anastasia, jade and jeremy all met in high school. during high school they mostly kept to themselves, no one ever bothered them, no one really noticed them, they just watched and observed everything while living their own teenage angst. well- if you include staying in jade's basement watching 80's films 5 nights a week as 'teenage angst'. they were inseparable.

"okay everyone, welcome to freshman year. we're not going to take it easy on you all, so buckle up and get your asses together." anastasia scrunched her eyebrows as she heard the frail, old white man speak into the speaker. she felt a breath inch in closer to her ear, "he's probably an eighty year old man who creeps on little children and fetishises them before he sleeps." a boy whispered. she coughed, having been taken aback by the remark of the boy next to her. "oops! i'm jeremy by the way" jeremy smiles taking his hand out for the girl to shake. "i'm anastasia" she giggled taking his hand to shake.

after the assembly, jeremy and anastasia stayed together, turns out most of their subjects were the same. they had a lot in common, but at the same time had complete different personalities. they liked the same shows, movies, but jeremy was so confident, making anastasia feel warmth with this new layer of security.

walking into the cafeteria, she sees a familiar dark-haired girl sitting by herself at a table. "who's that?" jeremy spoke, seemingly speculating the gaze i had on her. "that's jade. she went to my middle school but moved in the sixth grade". anastasia looked at the girl across of the cafeteria. "we should go up to her" jeremy states, grabbing her hand and pulling the girl towards jade. "hi i'm jeremy, you know anastasia and we're going to be best friends." jeremy blurted causing both the girls to laugh.

from there, their friendship blossomed. a sense of familiarity and home was felt whenever they were all together. fights rarely happened, everything was pure love between them three. so much love that they decided to all apply at the same university, NYU.

to their luck, they all got accepted. after graduation, they eventually found a small apartment in new york that fits all three of them, checking off the 'living and going to college together' point in their 'things we need to do when we're older' checklist.

this is where anastasia perused a course in visual arts, majoring primarily on paintings and drawings. jade was studying fashion and art design, dreaming to be a future designer after college. jeremy studied theatre, using his joy and passion for musical theatre, singing and dancing to the best of his advantage.
