"Oh hey Lenay! What took you so long to get home?" Daniel asked casually, as he was preparing dinner. He usually cooks dinner when mother works an afternoon or the evening shift, but there are no complaints coming from my side because his cooking is perfection.
"Hey, I just got a little bit distracted" I said, not bothering to say where I was. Not that I mean any disrespect, but I want that to be my place, where I will go to clear my mind or just relax. I sat down at the kitchen counter, putting my sling bag on my lap. "What are you making for tonight, because the smell alone says it is going to be something real good"
"Chicken a la king" he replied, mixing the milk and sauce together, stirring it into the ingredients in the pan. I raised my brows, wondering where the money had come from to buy the ingredients. "It's the end of the month, I got paid today" he said, as if he read my thoughts.
"Yay-" I started excitedly, but was interrupted by Daniel.
"Don't get too excited. With having to pay the rent and some of my debts, I hardly got to see my money. With the couple of hundreds I had left, I bought some groceries" he said with a heavy sigh.
"Don't worry. Soon, everything will work out for us" I said, sending him a small smile of hope.
"I know, but it will all take time" he said, and I agreed.
"Do you need any help?" I asked, getting up and standing by his side.
"No, I got everything under control- oh wait! Can you put on some brown rice?"
"Sure!" I said, feeling happy that I could help.

Liam's P.O.V
I pulled my car into the driveway, lettting out a sigh of relief. I'm glad my first day of school is over, though it didn't go as I thought it would. Being the new student, I thought that I would have to be alone for my first few days, but the girls went out of their way to make me feel most welcomed. To be honest it felt like torture being pulled in different directions by all those girls, but I couldn't be rude enough to tell them off. Soon they will understand that I am not interested, only looking forward to being nothing more than friends. Don't get me wrong, I am not gay, I'm just not looking for an relationship right now. My hearts preserved for that special girl I'll give it to one day, so till then, no meaningless flings.
I got out of the car and advanced to the door. I fished the key out of my pocket, unlocked the door and let myself in. "Mom, Dad, I'm home!" I shouted in the hallway, but was greeted with silence. I checked their room to see if they were home, but it came up empty. Yes I know that the door was locked so they wouldn't be here, but even if they were home, it would always be locked. My parents are a bit paranoid. I went to my room, kicked off my shoes and went to lay down on the bed. I felt the world of boredem swallowing me in as I had nothing to do. The house was clean, nothing out of place, so that takes cleaning out of the things to do list. I don't have any homework, because during lunch I ran away from the girls and hid away in the library. I got bored, so I decided to do my work then. I don't feel like watching movies. What more is their to do? Maybe I could do some prank calling? Nah, not in the mood. My daily schedule would be Eat, Sleep, School, Repeat. Yeah, tell me about it. How much boring could life get? I heard my stomach making the sound of a dying whale, so I got up to grab something from downstairs to eat.
I rummaged through the fridge, nothing catching my eye, so I opened the freezer pulling out a pack of loin chops and put it in the pan. Once I was done frying it, I took two big pieces and placed it in my plate. While I was enjoying my meal, My mind wondered off to school and then to the girl that showed me to accouting class. I know I said that I'm not looking for some kind of relationship, but for her I would change that words anytime. A smile appeared on my face as I remembered her beautiful hair falling to her neck in soft curls, the way her soft voice danced its way to my ears and her smile is one that would lighten up anothers day even if it was their worse day ever. I slapped myself against the forehead as I realized that I had not asked her name. How stupid of me!
"What did you do to deserve that slap son?" A voice said from behind me. I looked up seeing my father standing with his briefcase in his hand.
"I just was reminded of my stupidity" I said, earning a laugh from him. "You coming or going?"
"Your stupidity?" he questioned. He looked down at his watch and said, "Coming and going. I just popped in to see if you home and are okay. In fifteen minutes I will be on my way again"
"Yeah, I met a girl today but didn't get her name or number. Oh okay... Would you like some coffee?" I asked, getting up from the stool.
"Eh, don't worry because there is always a tomorrow to get that. And yes please, make it strong" he said. He went over to sit on the stool by the kitchen counter. While I was busy making his coffee, I glanced over my shoulder and saw him giving me a guilty smile. I turned back frowning. "Can you put it in my thermal cup, because I have to leave and can't have myself messing on my suit" He is worrying over a suit when he has a lot more in his walk in closet.
"Here, dad" I handed him the coffee. He said a quick thanks and scurried out of the house. I stared after him in confusion, but his behavior made sense as soon as I looked at my now empty plate. I ran out of the door but was too late, because he was gone. My phone beeped in my pocket and I took it out, opening the text I just received.
Thanks for the lunch. lol!
I pressed the exit button, and stomped off inside. How dare he steal my food like that! What am I to eat now? Okay so our fridge is stocked, but I don't want anthing else, but my fried food he just stole. There has to be something against it. Parents aren't suppose to be stealing their childrens food. This is child abuse. No wait, not child abuse. I am not a child, I am 19 years old. So it is young adult abuse.
"I'm jealous. You make your father lunch, but not for me" Mother said as she entered my room.
"I did not make him lunch" I said feeling grumpy.
"Well then what is your father bragging about?" she asked sitting next to me.
"I didn't make him anything. He stole my lunch" I pouted.
"He did not!" she gasped dramatically. "Oh my poor poor baby!" she pulled me into a hug and rocked us back and forth.
"He did! And that lunch was to take away the stress that girls gave me" I complained.
"The girls from school?" she asked, pushing me away to look me in the eye, but still kept her hands on my shoulders.
"Yes mommy, they were like harassing me out in the open it was so embaresing, and no one helped me" I said sniffing dramatically. Yeah, I get my acting skills from my mother.
"Oh goodness no! How did you make it out there alive?" she pulled me back into a hug and stroked my hair.
"okay so there was one girl that helped me, but I didn't get her name"
"Didn't get her name? What is wrong with you? You definitely not my son If you don't know how to get someones name!" she pushed me away playfully, making me almost fall off the bed. "Tell me about her" she squealed.
"Uh, okay... I don't know her, but I do plan on getting to know her. Anyways, all I can say about her is that she is really cute-"
"No girl likes being called cute. Try the word beautiful" Mother said interrupting me.
"Okay, she is a fair skin beauty. She has a nice white smile, her teeth are straight. Her hair comes down in soft brown curls to her shoulders. Her eyes are a chocolate brown. Has a slender frame-"
"Okay... Fair skin, brown hair, brown eyes and is slender?" she asked, her eyes dancing in excitement. I nodded smiling. "Nice! For interest sake of your father, is she rich?" She asked. My smile faltered and she noticed it. Why does it matter if she has money or not? Just because we have money to blow, does not mean that we are superior to the rest. "I'm guessing that with the way your face changed, she is not rich?" she asked, scrunching up her nose a bit.
Suddenly I felt anger rise with in me. Ladies and gentlemen, you have finally met my real parents. Lets all give them a round of aplause for their snobbish ways. Please note the sarcasm.
So that is the end for this chapter! How did you like it?
