At last, I am now 18 years old and now I can call myself as an adult, I can get my own driving license and I can vote. WOW!! Life is not the same from now - I thought to myself as I was enjoying my 18th birthday with my friends in The Mark Hotel in New York city. It was Night 7 PM and I was waiting for my mom to join the party. My mom Linda was arriving to New York that day after having spent a Week with my aunt in Florida. This is the first time my mom was not with me for the entire day on my birthday due to a medical emergency my aunt had and she had to visit her in Florida to look after her. My dad never spent time with me on my birthdays as he is always busy with his Business and stuffs and he is a workaholic, money-minded guy.

It was 7:30 PM and I was eagerly waiting for my mom, I thought to myself that she should be here by 8:00 PM. It was 8:15 PM and I saw my mom entering the party hall with a smile in her face and she kissed my cheek and wished me "Happy Birthday baby" and she handed me her present and it was Apple iphone 11 for which I was asking my mom two weeks back. I was so happy for her birthday gift and I hugged her. I cut the cake and enjoyed my birthday party with my friends and my mom. I also got a call from my dad who is in Dubai for his official purpose, he wished me for my birthday and I was surprised how he remembered my birthday as he never wished me for any of my birthdays and this was the first time. He told me that my mom informed him that today is my birthday and I got my doubt cleared. He told  he got me a Brand New Lamborghini car with my favorite Red color for my birthday. I was not that happy as I always wanted him to be with me during my birthdays and he thinks he can satisfy me with his costly gifts but that is not the case. I have asked him to spend time with me before, but he never understands and he often tells me "If I am with you, who will give you and your mom a life of Luxury?". He is right from his viewpoint as he loves Money a lot, more than his family.

After the party ended, myself and my mom went to our Apartment. It was 10:00 PM at night and as I was about to say Good night to my mom and went to her room, my mom asked me to come in and she needs to talk to me about something. I was curious on what she is going to talk about, I was also little scared whether she got to know about my latest drinking habit?. As I sat near her in her Bed, she told "What I am going to tell you may be shocking to you but I think this is the right time to talk to you regarding it", my heart rate increased and I was curious on what she is going to talk about. She asked me "Whether you know about Udumbe?". On hearing this I was curious why my mom is asking about such a dreadful Gangster, I replied "Yeah mom, I know about him, he is Drug lord in Senegal and is carrying out many illegal activities such as Murder, Kidnapping etc. I have also read in the internet and in newspapers that he is one among the most feared persons in the world and he runs a private army of his own. Not even the Senegal Government is able to control him and they too have a fear on him." As I finished saying this, I asked her "whether what I said is correct mom?". My mom told "Yes, all things what you said is correct, except that he is not a dreadful person but a modern day Robin Hood who helps Poor people by extracting money from dishonest and delinquent businessmen and politicians. It is the Media which portrays him as a dreadful person as you know majority of Media companies are controlled by these delinquent businessmen and politicians".

I got annoyed when my mom talks in support of such a Gangster guy. with some frustration I asked her "How come you know that Mom? you have not even seen him and you cannot have such an opinion without any proof, may be what the media tells is right". My mom gave he a smile and she told "who told you that I do not know him in person? If you are asking me the proof, I am the proof". When she said that I was taken aback, I asked her "Mom, you are joking right? how come you personally know about a gangster who is from an another continent?"

My Mom replied "That is why I told I wanted to talk with you, the truth is before my marriage when I was 18 years old, I had an interest in acting and I got my first chance to act in an African movie and the shooting of that movie took place in Senegal. During those days I fell in love with a a 23 Year old Senegalese Guy who is none other than Udumbe. At those time he was a Henchman for an another Drug Lord." I cannot believe what I have heard from my mom, I cannot even imagine in my dreams that my mom was in Love with a Senegalese Gangster. I got a shock of my life that day.

What she said further even shook me off, She said " I always desired to marry him, we were in Love. But your grandpa did not want me to get married to a Gangster and that too a Senegalese man. I was adamant to marry him as for me he is the most manliest guy but thinks took a downturn when your grandpa blackmailed me that he would commit suicide if I married Udumbe. Also, Udumbe's life got a worse turn where he was arrested for drug trafficking and sentenced to imprisonment for 5 years. I had to marry your father so that I can see a smile in your grandpa's face. Your Grandpa was proud that his daughter got married to a successful billionaire of his own race and not to a Black skinned gangster. Your grandpa was a racist my dear, but apart from it he is a Nice person and I love him. After marrying your father, I was and I am still being a nice wife to him and a good mother to you. I like your father but still I feel there is something missing in my life. Today, Udumbe has a Big empire of his own in Senegal. By now you are 18 and you are in a age to understand. This may be shocking to you but I am sure you will understand your mom. I came to know that Udumbe has a lot of concubines and I have decided to be one among it." Hearing this from my mother, I was completely stunned and did not know what to do or tell her. I stood there standstill.
