surrera road block

chapter 1

Robert lay in his hospital bed in pain after having surgery on his leg, as he lay in bed he thought about his wife who was supposed to be with him in his room beside him helping through the pain in his leg without taking pain medications, but in the end he gave in and had some morphine.

the morphine is injected and soon the meds get to his blood stream and soon the pain in his leg was decreasing, he lay back trying to sleep thinking of his wife who is spiraling out of control after her dad died, since then she decided to look into her past and she found something out about her mum and ever since she had been distant and know she is off to see her family who she hadn't spoke to in years, but what Robert doesn't know is that Andy's mum is still alive and Andy went to see her, Robert lay in bed wondering were Andy was and if she was okay but for him he didn't want to see her because she didn't stick to her promise.

Robert lay back in bed trying to sleep and he forgets about Andy and her broken promises.

trailer park

Andy went to speak to her aunt but when she got there she was shocked to find out that her father had lied to her for years and so did her family, after discovering her mum is still alive Andy is shocked and speechless, she couldn't form words instead she ran out of the trailer, she got in her car and started the engine and soo  she drove off out of the park, heading home.

halfway home Andy drove along the road when out of nowhere another car swerved into her lane, Andy thinks about her husband alone in his hospital bed in pain and she should be beside him instead she was driving home, Andy is brought out of her thoughts when she looks up to see headlights coming towards her, she thinks why is there someone coming towards me in my lane, Andy tries her hardest to swerve and avoid the car but the car was speeding then out of nowhere there was a big bang.

Andy's car had collided head on with the other car, her head hit the steering along with her chest but then she was flung back in her seat when her airbags deployed, the man in the other car got out the car he checks on Andy who sat in her seat with her head to the side bleeding and unconscious, the man limps away from the scene of the crime, he leaves the accident since he caused the crash in the first place since he was drunk behind the wheel, two passerby came across the accident they see the drunk man leaving the car a slowly he limps off, they forget about the man, and then they go to the two cars and all they find is Andy unconscious in her car, the man grabs his phone and he calls for an ambulance.

station 19

all the team stood working in the station hoping to hear news about there battalion chief and how his surgery went, but as they all stood round they got a call out to a car accident on one of the busiest roads in Seattle.

Maya: right lets go but we are a team member down so lets all work together.

everyone listens to Maya, then they rush off to get there gear on and soon they are off to the scene of the accident.

accident site

the ladder, engine and the ambulance along with the PR truck pull up at the scene, they get out the vehicles and soon they look at the crash, they only find one victim, but then the passerby who called it in approaches maya and her team.

Tim: oh thank god you are here I didn't know if to move her or not.

Maya: sir can you tell me what happened?

Tim: err yeah me and my wife donna were walking along a few  yards up when we heard a big bang we came, we rushed to here and that's when we came upon the crash.

Ben: hey where is the driver from the other car?

Tim: when we got to the crash we seen him get out the car and he fled.

Maya: okay lets get the women out of the car and check the other car out try and figure out what caused the crash.

everyone walks to the cars, Maya is a few yards away then she suddenly stops, she recognized the silver car where the female victim was trapped, then she realize who it was her friend and colleague, she drops her gear and she runs to the drivers side, she looks in and she finds Andy slumped to the side with blood dripping down her face.

ben and the rest of the team see there captain rush to the car, they see the women but they don't make the connection until they get a close up of the victim then they realize who there victim is, everyone rushes to the car and they start to help there friend.

Jack: right lets get the doors off, and get the ambulance and PR truck ready.

Maya: hey Gibson I am still the captain and I give out the orders.

Jack: sorry captain.

Maya: miller and Gibson take the doors off warren and probie examine the patient.

jack and dean take the doors off the car, they step back letting ben get a closer look at the patient.

ben goes to Andy's side he puts the collar around her neck, he checks her head and looks at her pupils by shining a light in her eyes, once he is satisfied he moves to her shoulders, which to him her left shoulder looks dislocated from the impact with the airbag and the steering wheel, then he presses on her chest he runs both hands on either side of Andy's chest checking her ribs then he feels that she has at least two ribs broken on each side from when her chest collided with the steering wheel.

Maya: ben how is she?

Ben: she is lucky my main concern is the head injury, but she also has a dislocated shoulder and broken ribs on both side I think the rest is probably just bruising.

Maya: can we get her out now?

Ben: yeah but slow and steady, we don't know about her spine.

Maya: okay lets all help take the patient out the car gently.

everyone gathers around the car, waiting to help the victim out of the car, ben and dean lift Andy's body and they place the backboard underneath her, then they manoeuvre her out the seat and onto the backboard, soon Andy was on the board and secure, everyone grabs the board and they move her to the awaiting stretcher.

the stretcher is loaded onto the PR truck, probie jumps in the front seat and starts the engine, ben gets in the back, while everyone else gets in the other vehicles, and soon there friend is off to the hospital to receive treatment.
