2. Listen!
- I get it, talking about yourself is so fun, but your crush probably doesn't care about the time when your BFF fell in front of everyone at the mall (even though it was hilarious). While you should, of course, share info about yourself, make sure you're also listening to your crush (not on your phone while they tell you about their siblings). Ask questions, remain engaged, and take note of what they say. Your crush will appreciate it when you send them a text wishing them luck on the test they casually mentioned a few days before.
This one seems easy enough. He wasn't that keen on opening up to people, but with you, well, you're an exception but that's a story for another day.
It was the evening of your 'supposed' friendly, just a platonic, hang-out with Todoroki. Right after you guys arrived at the dorms, the girls immediately bombarded you with questions that made you all the more exhausted.
"Look! They're together!"
"Aww, I've always shipped you two."
"I knew it, you two are dating!" Mina shouted in glee, stars seemingly sparkled in her eyes as she suspected the both of you. You just sweatdropped, knowing that nothing will get through with this girl. "Yeah yeah, think whatever you want. I'm just gon' study in my room for the quiz tomorrow," you sighed. With everything that had been happening in this school, the only thing that reminded you that you were in an actual academy were the projects, tests, and whatnot given to you by the teachers.
Even though the entire hang out with Todoroki was fun, all you wanted now was to just rest and do some studying lying on the comforts of your bed. Your eyes met with the heterochromatic eyes of the aforementioned boy, and as you mouthed 'good night', he nodded and did the same, though you could see the ghost of a smile on his face.
"Look at their interactionnn." Toru squealed.
You just sighed for the nth time before truly going upstairs in your room. And after that, you immediately concluded that you'd only slept for four hours once you'd awoken. You went downstairs and sat on the comfortable couch in the living room after you made some coffee.
You relished the bittersweet taste of the drink, not knowing that another presence was present inside the quarters that you were also in. "Y/n?" you could hear the stoic voice of Todoroki, and if it wasn't for the coffee being placed on the table, you were sure that it would've spilled on you.
"Hey, Todo," you yawned as you patted your hands on the space on the couch beside you. "Wanna sit here?" And just before you could comprehend anything, you could already feel the sinking of the couch. Man, oh was he fast.
"What are you doing here during dawn?" He asked, and as he saw the textbooks that were placed on top of the table, he immediately knew the answer to his question without you opening your mouth. "Studying for the test on Monday," you muttered as you rubbed the sleep out of your eyes as you tried your hardest to keep yourself awake, yet it all seemed futile since your head was already bobbing up and down.
"You should still be asleep right now," he scolded you, yet the tone of his current voice wasn't wavering. "Can't," and as you tried to take the beverage for you to drink, you were stopped once a hand stopped you from doing so. "Even if you do study right now, you wouldn't even be able to keep all the information. Studying is nothing if the state of your body is against it."
And since you were sleepy, you tried to comprehend his words, and because you were already slipping out of your consciousness, you just agreed without a second thought.
Thud, the sound of a body falling sidewards. Was it because of the story's plot or something? Nevertheless, Todoroki didn't even think of moving as your body was leaning against him. You were breathing lightly, and with no other movements coming for you, he could only speculate that you were knocked out.
His cheeks were tainted with the darkest shade of red, his heart was beating so fast he began worrying that you'd wake up because of it. He tried inhaling, then exhaling, repeating until he was sure he's calmed down even a little bit. Oh god, he didn't know what to do now. Should he carry you to your room? Should he wake you up so you could go to your room on your own instead? Or, should he just-
His mind was filled with different kinds of thoughts regarding what he should do in this current situation. He decided to move your head a bit so that it would rest on his lap, also, so that you wouldn't feel any cramps when you wake up.
Now that he'd at least thought of something, he didn't even notice his own self falling into a deep slumber. It didn't even matter if he wasn't able to complete step two since something better happened.
Step 2: Meh.
