Today was Harry's first ever broom lesson in school, he was excited, he couldn't wait to show Hogwarts what the future of the Gryffindor Quidditch team looked like. Unfortunately though, Harry never really got to show his skill to her because Neville had broken in arm because he didn't know how to control broom at all. Draco Malfoy picked up Neville's remembrall and decided to make some snarky comments behind the boy's back.

'Ha! If the fat lump had given this a squeeze then maybe he would have remembered not to fall on his fat arse!' Malfoy said, whilst all the Slytherins burst out laughing at this comment. Harry was fuming that Malfoy was taking advantage of the situation in such a nasty way.

'Give it here Malfoy!' Harry shouted, the irritation becoming very prominent in his voice. Little did Malfoy or Harry know that at this moment Professor McGonagall opened her office window because she heard some sought of argument; she was about to go and interfere when she saw Malfoy mount his broom and taunt Harry, leading to Harry following him up there. What happened next was a complete surprise to her though, Malfoy threw the ball beyond Harry, so naturally Harry went to chase it. The ball dipped 50 feet, so Harry dived down, and turned upside down so that he could catch the ball. When Harry caught the ball with ease and showed a lot of finesse when doing so, McGonagall was bouncing with joy.

She took Harry from the cheering crowd and dismissed the smirks which were coming from Malfoy and the rest of the Slytherins. As she escorted Harry to Professor Quirrels's office, she couldn't help but think about what she had said 6 ago, 'well if he makes it into Gryffindor I'm sure that we'll be able to win the house cup with ease'.

'Ah Professor Quirrel, could I borrow Wood for a moment please' She asked with Harry looking terrified at the thought of being hit by wood. 'Don't worry I won't hit you with Wood' she said soothingly to Harry. As if on cue, Oliver Wood walked out of the class, eyeing Harry curiously.

She lead the two boys into an empty classroom which Peeves quickly fled from.

'Mr Wood, I have found you a seeker!' She squealed with joy, whilst both Oliver and Harry looked at her incredulously.

'Miss I'm a first year and my broom isn't made for seekers!' Harry said

'How do you know he's any good professor?' Oliver asked.

'He caught a ball in a 50 feet drop whilst his tummy was facing the sky!', she was now grinning, 'don't worry mister Potter, I will tell Dumbledore that the rules need to be changed slightly and I will write to your father almost immediately!'.

'Alright! Awesome when does practise start?!' Harry was beaming with joy

'The Friday after Halloween' Wood replied instantly, he was beginning to come around to the thought of Harry being seeker, the boy had the perfect build for seeker.

'He's even better than Charlie, Oliver! Charlie has nothing on him', McGonagall said, 'we're finally going to win the house cup this year'.

The news that Harry was the new Gryffindor seeker spread like wild fire around the school; at first, it was supposed to be a secret, but when Malfoy found out, he became extremely jealous and decided to complain to Snape. Snape was also fuming, although Harry had proven himself just as intelligent and kind as Lily, it reminded Snape of James and how quidditch obsessed the man became. Snape deducted 80 points from Gryffindor for what he claimed were favouritism from McGonagall.

Today was Halloween, Harry sat during charms, thinking about what his first Quidditch practice was going to be like and if he'll actually be able to see the snitch in time. They were learning how to levitate feathers with their wands, Harry was extremely bored however, because he could levitate boulders by twitching a finger. Professor Flitwik began to scold Harry as to why he wasn't even bothering to try the task, but was silenced when Harry raised his eyebrow, causing all of the feathers in the room to levitate and circle him.

As they were walking out from yet another lesson of Ron and Hermione's bickering, the youngest Weasley child began to throw mean insults at the muggleborn.

'Its LeviOsa, not LeviosA!' he said in a mocking tone, Seamus and Dean began laugh but Harry stared at Ron coldly, he didn't like the fact that Ron was saying all of this because Hermione reminded him of his own mum.

'Ron I don't think that you understand though, Hermione's a muggle born, in the world of muggles if someone has any weird abilities they're seen as a freak. Hermione has probably had trouble making friends in the past because people thought she was a freak, so now that she's come to a school where everyone is just as abnormal as her, she's trying to show her ability to make herself somewhat relatable.

Harry turned around to see Hermione, smiling warmly at him, even though tears were streaming down her face. She mouthed the words thank you, but before Harry could reply, Ron replied from Harry's statement.

'So what, she's still just a big old know it all, bossy boots' Ron spat, causing Hermione to shove past the group, sobbing her eyes out.

During the Halloween feast, Professor Quirrel came running into the Great Hall, shrieking about a troll that had come in and gone to the dungeons.

'Ron! Hermione is near the dungeons because of you! I heard from Parvati Patil that she was crying because someone was being really mean to her.' Harry said glaring at Ron.

'Alright, what should we do about it though?' Ron replied

'We go help her out of there'

'And if the troll finds us?' Ron asked with definite fear in his voice

'I'll handle that' Harry smirked while Ron sighed and followed Harry out of the Hall.

When they arrived at the girls bathroom, they could hear the sobbing of Hermione, but worse they saw the troll look at the curiously whilst gripping a club.

'Alright, you go save Hermione, I'll deal with ugly over here' Harry commanded Ron, which he happily followed since he didn't have to do anything about the troll. Harry took a couple of breaths in and mentally grabbed the club; Harry opened his eyes to see the club was levitating above the troll and that he was the one in control of it. He swung his arm back and swung it back forward with force, causing the club to hit the skull of the troll; he continued this motion until eventually the troll fell unconscious, as if on cue, professor McGonagall, Dumbledore, Snape, Flitwick, Quirell and Sprout arrived as Harry dealt the final blow.

Dumbledore looked at Harry in admiration, as the boy was finally finding a way to make good use of his abilities, whilst McGonagall physically let her jaw drop. Harry eyed Snape who was clutching his knee which had many tears and bloody stains.

'What happened to your knee Professor? It seems awfully convenient that your knee is hurt just during the short time period that a troll entered the school' Harry said.

'10 points from Gryffindor for being too nosy!' Snape sneered

'And 70 points to Gryffindor for Mister Potter's display of courage and another 20 for the same reasons for Mister Weasley' Dumbledore said whilst Professor McGonagall beamed.
