At the league hideout
"Hey, Dabi! Why so sad?" Himiko Toga asked her fellow League member.
"I'm not sad. Go annoy someone else, crazy."
"Awww is it about your old family again?"
"You don't know what you're talking about. Get out or I'll burn you alive."
"Fine, fine. Jin is much more fun," she said, skipping out of the room.
"Ugh, Shoto," Dabi sighed to himself. "Why do you listen to him?"
The villain had recently discovered his little brother was preparing to take a provisional licensing exam, another step towards becoming a hero. His younger siblings were his greatest regret. He knew he shouldn't have left them with their bastard of a father. But it was too late. He was Dabi now. Touya was gone. He just wished his care for his family would go away too.
In the stands of the Provisional Licensing Exam
"Hey, Hana, is your mom still mad you're at UA?"
Hana sighed. "Yeah. I really thought she'd understand, Ketsubutsu just can't compare!"
"Yeah, it's dumb. Meanwhile, my moms probably would have killed me if I didn't at least get into Shiketsu," Bani complained. With both their moms being highly ranked heroes, Bani had a lot of pressure on them.
"Well, we're gonna get to see how they all compare to UA today!" I said, trying to lighten the mood.
I looked around the stands, and familiar green hair caught my eye. "Hey, Hana, there's your mom!"
"Ha. Yeah, she's probably just flirting with Mr. Aizawa again."
"If you can call that flirting," Bani chuckled.
"Doesn't UA usually have a hard time in the beginning, because of the sports festival?" Hana asked. She probably remembered me talking about how bad our school did the year I took it. Only one other UA student passed with me.
"Yeah, but I don't think they'll have as much of an issue."
"Why's that?"
"Well, they'll still be targeted right off the bat, but the other students won't know their weaknesses as well as they usually do. They've changed their styles so much since the sports festival."
"Like who?" Bani asked.
"Well, Midoriya is relying on his legs now, because of the damage to his arms. Bakugo figured out how to shoot a smaller, focused blast. Ashido figured out how to shoot her acid farther. Uraraka has been working on using her ability on herself. Todoroki has been working on switching between sides quickly, in hopes he will be able to use both at once."
"Wow. Is that what they were all working on while Hatsume was helping Power Loader make changes to their hero costumes?" Hana asked.
"Yep. Also during the training camp this summer."
"You mean the one where Bakugo was kidnapped?" Bani offered.
"...that's the one."
"Is he okay? I mean, I don't know that I'd be okay so soon after being-"
"SHHH IT'S STARTING!"
A/N: The rest of this chapter is Rozu and her friends' commentary on the events of the exam. There are some interactions you may not want to miss, but you might want to skip to the end of the chapter if you think you'll find it boring.
We watched my class group up, but then...
"No! Bakugo what are you doing, stay with them! KIRISHIMA STOP FOLLOWING HIM! Oh Todoroki not you too!"
