Maks was the first to awake the next morning. Her leg was sprawled over his lap and her head was on his chest, her dark hair seemed to blowing behind her. Before sitting up, he pressed a long kiss to her forehead, carefully lifting her leg and moving it beside her other one. He panicked when he heard her stir, but then relaxed when he heard her breathing return to normal. Maks dug in his overnight bag for his sweatpants and slipped them on. After tying the knot tightly around his waist, he opened the balcony doors attached to the bedroom. The familiar Venetian smell flooded his senses, the cool breeze coming through the doors; he would miss this.

Venice had become his home for the past couple of months, it had been her home for over two years. Although he couldn't wait to go home and see his family, he almost didn't want to leave. The people here were so incredibly nice and caring; they constantly wore smiles on their faces. They were full of kindness and generosity too.

Maks pulled up the chair that was sitting in the corner of the bedroom and placed it on the balcony, facing the bedroom. He watched her back rise and fall with each and every steady breath she took. Meryl had rolled over onto her stomach, her dark hair now cascading down her bare back. Her face was slightly flushed and her hair was a wild, amazing mess. Before he knew it, her eyes had fluttered open and she sat up to stretch, the white sheet slipping off of her tiny, muscular body.

"I hope I didn't wake you from your slumber, Princess." Maks' husky voice was made deeper with sleep.

"No, you didn't. Am I distracting you?" Meryl hadn't covered her chest area since she had woken up and Maks' eyes were glued. She wasn't even sure he was listening to what she was saying. Maks shook his head let out a sort of growl as he crawled into the bed. He rubbed his morning stubble against her neck, making her giggle loudly.

"Let the events begin!" Maks stood and untied the knot of his sweatpants, letting them pool to the floor, as Meryl giggled at his grand gesture.

Afterwards, the happy and flushed couple dressed and packed quickly, racing out of the hotel room to see Ralph and Claudia. They rushed to the door, Bilbo barking from the inside and Claudia trying to quiet him. She opened the door with the dog in her arms, Ralph running up behind her still in his pajamas.

"I can't believe you guys are leaving today! We've really loved having you here. Promise me you guys will visit us sometime, we're gonna miss you!" Claudia rambled and hugged Meryl over and over again, while Maks seemed to be in a deep conversation with Ralph. They both seemed to be smiling like fools.

"Well we've really got to go, we're actually a little late." Meryl quickly hugged both Ralph and Claudia and carefully led Bilbo into his crate.

Faster than they wanted to, they had gone through security and boarded the huge, international plane. Meryl lied her head on Maks' shoulder, looking out the window at the big airport.

"Hey," Maks kissed Meryl's forehead, trying to think of some way to comfort her. "Your mother is excited to see you, so is Val. I'm sure our fans would like to see us together again, too." They shared a laugh and the plane soon took off.

As they walked off of the plane, collecting their luggage, they could hear the chatter of the small Detroit airport. They searched the sea of people calling their names for Meryl's parents. Letting the paparazzi get a few pictures, they finally found Meryl's mom, dad, and her brother, Clayton. Meryl ran to give her mother a hug as Maks shook hands with Clayton and her father. As he hugged Meryl's father, Paul whispered in Maks' ear:

"Thank you for saving our daughter's life." When Maks gave him a questioning look, Paul just leaned up to his ear again. "A woman called us and told us everything." Paul laughed and pulled Maks into another hug. "Oh and," Paul pulled Maks to the side, away from the girls and his son. "Whenever you think you're ready, I give you permission to marry my daughter. She deserves a man like you." Maks beamed with joy and his smile couldn't spread any wider.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!!" The boys chuckled and hugged once more, the girls giggling behind them. Maks' outburst had been loud enough for the airport to hear, causing most people to stare and become quiet. Maks shyly walked over to Meryl, hiding behind her and kissing her temple. "Let's go home, babe."
