Ulterior Motives II

Road Trip!

Cheryl picked Ivana up and carried her into the grey RV that was parked outside of their apartment complex. The interior was small but comfortable, with the bedroom at the far end and a seating area just behind the driving wheel.

The trip from Los Angeles to Houston was about twenty four hours, so Cheryl and Toni decided to drive for twelve hours each, spending their spare time entertaining Ivana in the back.

'You ready angels?' Toni asked Cheryl and Ivana, kissing both of their foreheads as they sat on the light brown seat towards the front of the van.

'Mhm,' Cheryl replied, adoring the sensation that her girlfriend's lips left on her head.

Toni walked out of the side door of the van and closed it shut before climbing into the driver's side and starting the engine. Cheryl held onto her child tightly, since there were no seat belts.

'Lets get this show on the road,' Toni said quite sadly. She wasn't looking forward to this like she would a vacation, since it was for her mother's funeral. She knew that it had to be done though.

For the next three hours, Cheryl played barbies with Ivana whilst Toni drove, they got about one hundred and eighty miles before they stopped at a gas station, which wasn't as far as they had wanted to get, but it wouldn't have a detrimental effect on the rest of the journey.

Toni and Ivana went to the bathroom whilst Cheryl pumped gas into the car, since she didn't need the toilet.

When she finished, she got into the front of the van since it was her turn to drive. They were both driving for four blocks of three hours.

She looked to her left to see Toni hurrying out of the service station with Ivana holding her hand and walking. Cheryl loved her little family.

After a long drive and multiple stops, they eventually arrived at the RV park in Texas. It was about ten minutes from the Church where the funeral would be held, so it was perfect.

Cheryl parked in the big field and headed into the back of the van, where Ivana and Toni we're asleep. She climbed into the double bed and snuggled up to her girlfriend, appreciating the warmth that her body radiated.

Briefly, Toni woke up and turned to face Cheryl, subconsciously wrapping her arms around the redhead's waist. They took comfort from each other's embrace.

'I love you baby,' Cheryl whispered, in case Toni was awake enough to hear her. But there was no response, so she just wrapped her arms around her and let herself drift away.

Screaming woke the couple up before the sun had risen.

'Ughhh,' Toni groaned, turning away from Cheryl to see to the toddler who lay in a smaller bed next to her.

Cheryl watched as her girlfriend picked up their child and sang to her, bouncing her to help her fall back to sleep.

'Twinkle, twinkle, little star,' Toni sang in her soft, quiet voice.

'How I wonder what you are,

Up above the world so high,

Like a diamond in the sky,' Cheryl sat up and scooted to the other side of the bed to sit with her girls, wrapping her arm around Toni's shoulders.

'Twinkle, twinkle, little star,' Cheryl took over, as Toni kept the child bouncing. 'How I wonder what you are.'

Toni leant into Cheryl and gave her a quick kiss, before placing the almost sleeping toddler back into her bed.

They both climbed back into their bed, leaving Ivana to fall back to sleep.

'What time is it?' Toni asked, it was still the middle of the night, but she didn't know the exact time.

Cheryl reached over to her bedside table and picked up her phone, 'three fifteen,' she told the other girl.
