    Things like his crown that they summon might not be actually attached to shapes, but they are mentally and physically sensitive. They can cause a lot of pain when they are hurt, both mental and physical. Only those TRUE  monster shapes would purposely hurt summoning things. His destroyed crown is one of the main reasons for his mental problems. Yes Cyan purposely did it, he wanted to see what it would do, and found it somewhat "satisfying"
