"you've gotten handsome"
🐍

It was the first day of year 3 for, Y/n Villin. She couldn't wait to see all her friends again. Even though she saw most of them during formal balls, none of them could be themselves. Their parents would always look over their shoulders making sure they behaved well enough to exceed their family name.

After packing all her things she was dropped off at the station by the family driver. "Thank you," She told him as he gave her the trunk. She ran through the brick wall and went inside the train, looking for her fellow Slytherin's. As she walked to the the back of the train, someone bumped into her. Y/n looked up seeing Hermione, she scoffed, "Watch where you're going filthy muggle."

Even though Hermione was a witch, she always made fun of her for being muggle-born and always called her a muggle. As of being muggle-born was some sort of sin.

Hermione slightly turned red, probably from the anger and left. Y/n picked up her luggage and put it away as she went towards her friends.

"Hey guys!" Y/n said as she sat down next to Draco. "Hey how was break?" He asked her. "It was okay, I wish we could have hung out more." She nudged him playfully. "I like your hair." She continued seeing Draco's less gelled hair. It also seemed a lot softer, which was something new to everyone. "Thanks," He smirked at her. She let out a small chuckle as she got comfortable in her seat.

Pansy had finally arrived and sat down across Draco and Y/n. She smiled at them as they both continued their conversation.

"My father told me Hagrid was going to teach a class this year, could you believe it? I guess they're letting anyone teach now." Draco told her.

Y/n rolled her eyes, "Dumbledore is ruining Hogwarts, how does he expect us to learn if he's going to allow just anyone to teach. Do you remember Lockheart? What a disgrace of a school." Draco nodded in a agreement remembering the chaos he caused. "Did you hear that Sirius Black escaped Azkaban?" Y/n told Draco, who nodded. "Father told me he wants Potter dead." She continued. "I don't know why they let him return, all he does is put others in danger." Draco scoffed, fixing the end of his nice white shirt.

The train had finally began to move, the whole ride consisted of Y/n and Draco talking about how Dumbledore was ruining Hogwarts and the dangers of Black escaping, because if he did want Potter dead – the school would be in danger.

Out of the blue, the whole train became cold and dark. Many students got up from their seats and looked around, but found nothing. Y/n figured the train had stopped working and didn't think much of it. It was a very old train.

As the train slowly began to reach Hogwarts, they all began to change into your robes. Y/n didn't realize until they both had gotten up, how tall Draco had gotten over break and dare she say attractive?

The train had finally stopped and everyone got off. As they were walking, a Gryffindor around their year, began to speak about a dementor being on the train, Draco had overheard and pulled him aside, "What was that about a dementor?" The boy eyes widened slightly, "T-there was a dementor on the train, it came towards Harry and he f-fainted." Draco smirked and looked at Y/n. They both laughed at the fact Harry fainted over a stupid dementor. As if they both have encountered something that scary.

She made her way into the carriage with her friends. "I heard we are getting a new Defense professor, hopefully they are better than the last." Y/n rolled her eyes as the memory of Lockhart turning DADA into a mad show appeared in her mind.

"If they aren't, my father will certainly hear about it." Y/n smirked – Oh how many times she has heard that line.

Finally arriving at the castle and into the Great Hall, Y/n sat with her friends at the Slytherin table. Dumbledore began the same speech he said every year. None of them listened, instead Y/n and her friend's cracked jokes and laughed quietly.

The doors open once more, seeing many first years arriving and looking at the room is awe. "Fresh blood." Y/n smirked at Draco. He looked over at the crowd of kids and scoffed, he was not amused. "I bet you that red head is a Weasley." Draco scoffed and rolled his eyes. "You don't have to bet, everyone knows that set of red hair belongs to that blood-traitor family." Both of them knew she wasn't a Weasley, they just liked to make fun of how many annoying kids they had in that small awful burrow.

Draco took turns around taking notice of the Gryffindor's sitting behind him. He began to taunt Harry Potter. "Psst! Potter! Is it true you fainted? Like actually fainted?" Y/n then pretended to faint, making Draco smirk. Harry and his friends rolled their eyes and turned back around in their seats. The Slytherin group of friends began to laugh. Y/n enjoyed seeing them mad.

Y/n placed her elbow on the table and set her chin on her hand. Dreading every minute of the sorting hat ceremony. She did however, congratulate those worthy of making it into Slytherin.

After what seemed like hours, food appeared on the table. Y/n quickly grabbed food and pumpkin juice and began to eat. She had small talk with everyone at her table, while consuming the delicious food.

"You look really different Draco." Y/n told her best friend. He raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Different how?"

"You've just grown a lot, your face has matured." Y/n said, while taking a sip of her juice. "Yours too," He smirked. "I think Y/n means you've gotten handsome over break." Pansy interrupted.

Both Draco and Y/n ignored her comment and continued to eat. Pansy always wanted to be apart of their friend group, but everyone knows trio of friends never works – well maybe for Harry, Hermione, and Ron it did?

After dinner, everyone went back into their common rooms. The Slytherin dungeons were gorgeous. It was dark and green, during winter it was colder than ever, and during summer, it felt humid – which was a con about the dungeons. It was mostly cold in Hogwarts, so Y/n never experienced the dreadful heat.

They sat in the common room couch looking at all the first years. Many kids were looking out the window towards Black Lake. "Alright, girls dorms are to the right, and boys are to the left. Your bags are all in your rooms, go on now!" The slytherin prefect told the first years.

Draco looked around the room in annoyance, these little kids were going to be a bloody pain. He already knew many were going to be lost and clueless. He just hoped none of them brought disgrace to the Slytherin house.
