Chapter Two
“What’s going on?” I ask. Kayla stands and walks over to me. She takes my hand in hers and tells me to sit down, and I do.
“We need to tell you something.” She tells me.
“You may not believe us. But it’s true.” Ms. Clark says standing next to Tina.
“Avalon...” Tina hesitates. “You know the story Sleeping Beauty right?” I nod. “Well, it is not a made up story. It’s true. And you’re the daughter of Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip.” She says. I jump to my feet and face all three of them.
“So you just expect me to believe that I’m the daughter of a fairytale princess!?” I exclaim.
“I know it’s hard to believe but,” Tina begins.
“Hard to believe? More like impossible! They’re just stories! They aren’t real!” I exclaim.
“Yeah. And unicorns don’t exist.” Tina says and the three laugh. Tina notices the look on my face and stops laughing. “They do.” She insists.
“It isn’t safe for the descendants of the fairytale royalty to stay in the real world. So you will need to come with us past the gate, and into the fairytale world, where you will attend the school for descendants.” Kayla explains.
“A descendant school?” I ask.
“Yes. The official name is: We Are the Descendants Boarding School.” Ms. Clark corrects.
“Boarding School?”
“Yes. It will require you to leave this town and your foster mother and…” Tina begins.
“I’m in.”
“Good.” Tina says.
