CARLA HAD WASHED all the blood off her skin, watching the crimson liquid spiral down the drain and out of view.

Her face and hands were clean, but the staining on her trousers from when she had knelt in their blood was  still prominent, so Allison had given Carla clothes to change into.

The teen pulled on the trousers, buttoned up the shirt, and determinedly avoided her reflection as she walked downstairs.

Allison and Ray were wrapping the body up in a rather nice rug, and Carla absently wondered if there was a way of dry cleaning it, because surely blood would leave a nasty stain.

She sat on the sofa next to Klaus, placing her head on his shoulder with exhaustion. Silently, he rested his head on top of hers, as the pair watched the couple in front of them tie the ends of the carpet.

"God, why are people so much heavier when they're dead?" Allison groaned out.

Ray looked at her strangely, "You got a lot of practice at this?"

Meanwhile, next to her, Klaus was having a conversation with Ben.

"Yeah, it was like sec with one of the lesser Baldwins. I mean, you can feel him clattering around in there, but do you really care?" Klaus glanced at the empty spot next to him, "Why? What was it like driving all this hot business?"

He nodded thoughtfully, clearly listening intently to whatever he was being told, "Oh yeah."

"Okay," Raymond said, readying himself to life the Swedes dead body, "One... Two..."

There was a sudden flash of blue light, and Carla let out a small scream as two figures literally zapped into the living room.

Diego took them all in, a rather small man standing my his side.

"Oh, good," Diego said, "All right, you three are all here - we gotta go."

"Diego!" Allison exclaimed, placing a hand iver her heart, "Jesus!"

"Wow," the small one was looking at them all in wonder, "Number Two, Three and Four. We almost have an umbrella straight flush here."

He then looked at Carla, "And the Carla Jenkins! It was such a shame Five killed you in the apocalypse."

Klaus and Allison turned to her in shock.

"Five did what?" Klaus exclaimed.

"He slit her throat when she was unconscious," Diego helpfully filled in, "I was just as surprised as you guys."

Carla couldn't help but wonder if her corpse had looked like the Wilsons - cut throat gaping wide like a smile.

She wondered how Five had reacted. Had he instantly regretted it? Did he cradle her lifeless body like she had done to Marie and Quentin? Had he watched her bleed out, no emotion on his face?

Ray made a small startled noise, and Allison looked at him, "Ray, this is my other brother, Diego."

Diego strode over to the man, offering his hand out to shake, "Hey, man, sorry to crash in here like this."

"Hey, who is this guy?" Klaus gestured towards the small business man.

"Herb," Diego told him, "He worked with Five at the Commission."

"The Commission?" Klaus frowned.

"We monitor and maintain the time-space continuum," Herb explained.

"Okay," the cult leader was disbelieveing.

"No, for real," Diego promised, "I was just there - it's awesome. I know what causes doomsday. It's Vanya."

Carla placed her head in her hands.

"Wait what?" Allison asked.

"How?" Klaus sat up straight.

"Gonna blow up the federal buiding at Dealey Plaza, just as the President's passing through is less than one hour," Diego checked a watch on his wrist, "We gotta go now."

"Wait, Vanya kills the President?" Allison's eyes were wide with shock .

"No, no, no," Diego furiously shook his head, "See, the explosion causes the motorcycle to drive off. Kennedy lives. Everybody thinks Russia's behind it, including the President . He strikes back, before you know it, it's raining nukes."

"Lovely," Carla muttered.

"Okay, um-"

Ray's scared voice cut his wife off, "Holy shit."

As Allison went ovee to comfort him, Carla turned to Herb.

"Does the Handler still work for you?"

Herb paused, "She... She's in charge of the entire Commission now."

Her voice was frail, "Why did you authorise their murders?"

"You'll have to be more specific," Herb laughed, before seeing her glassy eyes and falling serious.

"Marie and Quentin," she said, "Why did they have to die?"

"Marie and Quentin Wilson?" Herb was confused, "Who worked for us?"

Carla nodded.

Herb paled, slowly shaking his head, "I would know if they had been found... Their death wasn't authorised."

And with that, Carla had her answer.

It was all the Handler.

Clearly she was bitter the couple had managed to escpae, and had them killed in a rage once she found them.

"Carla, we have to go," Klaus muttered, "Vanya needs our help."

She just numbly nodded, allowing herself to be lead out of the room, with one power hungry woman laying at the forefront of her mind.
