Hello! Welcome to another one of my stories! I'm hoping this is the last rewrite of this story I'll do, but we'll see what my brain says.
"Call her in, please." The King commanded politely. His butler, clad in sky blue and pale yellow, dipped his head in a quaint bow before exiting the study. "She's not going to cooperate." The Queen stepped into the room. She went over and stood behind the brunette, rubbing his shoulders lightly. The King put a hand on her pale one. She stopped and kissed him gently on the cheek before going and sitting on a chair off in the room.
"It's been a couple of months. I'm sure there'd be a change of heart by now," The King said in a convincing tone, "besides, it's for the greater good."
"Greater good ye say?" A thick Irish accent echoed mockingly. "If that's what ye want to believe." A teenage girl closed the door behind her. The girl's hair was a deep brown with golden blonde highlights. It fell in waves down part of her back, her eyes, a pale hazel. A sword sheath hung at her right side, fortunately, empty for The King and his Queen.
"So, do I get my weapons back?" The girl asked with hope as she sat across from the King at his desk.
The brunette chuckled, "well, eventually, when you graduate, you'll get them back. Till then, no." The blonde scowled and clicked her tongue "tis a shame. Why am I here then?" She sat back in the chair and rested her arms on the armrests.
"You've been seeing some kids being called in, right?" The King began, copying her movements.
"Aye." She nodded her head, "what's yer point?"
"Well, we've been interviewing them about how they feel here; and what their backstory is. Some have said; it's been wonderful here. Others say they don't." He paused, "some say it's the same. We would like to know what your thoughts are and why you feel this way." He gestured to the other girl sitting off in the room when he said, "we."
The blonde turned her green gaze over to the girl. She looked from her purple hair tied into a neat bun down to her pastel purple flats. She scoffed, amused, "Haven't ye changed Mal."
"And you're still closed in as ever." The Queen - Mal - said almost sympathetically.
The girl frowned, obviously not expecting that response before turning her attention back to the King.
"Well, what do I have to say about here?" She said as she looked around the room, "oh, let's start with how everything is all blue and yellow and soft looking." The blonde smirked.
"But those are our school colors." The King chuckled.
"You know what Ben is asking, please, just give us an answer." Mal pleaded.
"Fine, fine, fine." The girl sighed.
"Really?" Mal and The King - Ben - said at the same time.
"Aye, why not?" The girl's smile turned very sly.
"Oh, that was surprisingly easy," Mal said underneath her breath.
"Alright, Katherine, tell us your tale." Ben leaned forward.
"First off, it's Harper to ye." The brunette corrected, "just to be clear I, am not here for your sympathy about what I've been through."
