Chikao Daisuke is a 16-year-old boy who had a sweet, caring, funny girl he loved go missing for 4 months. As soon as she returns, however, she's different and more violent towards her peers and even him. But, what if this girl who returned 4 months...
Chikao and Hide make their way down the stairs, holding hands and laughing with one another. They stop, however, when Chikao accidentally bumps into his dad's back.
"Oh. Sorry, Dad. I didn't see you there," Chikao apologizes as he rubs the back of his neck nervously.

"Don't worry about it. How are you feeling, Chikao?" Chikao's father, Enmei, asks.
"I'm alright now that Hide is here. I still can't believe she's alive and unharmed. Can you?" Chikao states with joy.
"Yes, it certainly is a delightful surprise to see you well, Hide. Chikao just couldn't stop worrying about you while you were gone," Enmei chuckles at his son's enthusiasm.

Hide doesn't respond, however. She just stares at Enmei with a blank, soulless expression. Chikao and Enmei look at her with puzzled expressions and Chikao puts his hand on her shoulder.
"Uh...Hide? What's wrong?" Chikao questions.
"H-Huh? Oh, sorry. I must have spaced out," Hide says.
"I wouldn't worry about her. I called her parents while you were still unconscious and they told me that they had taken her to a doctor yesterday because of her odd behavior. She has apparently developed bipolar disorder and may become lost in thought due to her emotions," Enmei explains. "Is that correct, Hide?"
"Maybe you should go back home, Hide. You may need some more time to rest," Enmei suggests.
"N-No, I'm fine. Really, I am. I want to spend more time with Chikao, please. I've missed not talking to him," Hide says, making Chikao smile a little.
"Are you sure, Hide? You've only been back for a few days," Enmei asks.
"No no, I'll be alright. I'll be going back to school next week, so I'll be right as rain then," Hide states.
"Hmm...alright then, Hide. Just make sure to pay attention to your health. And Chikao, make sure you look after her," Enmei says.
