Alexis?" the knock continued "It's Autumn, I need to talk to you."

I snapped out of my fantasy of being a princess and opened the door. "Yes?"

"Enjoying your room?"

"Yeah, it's okay I guess." I smiled and waited for her to continue.

"Listen, I noticed you and Jake had a thing going on, and---" She paused because she saw the look on my face. I didn't know whether to blush or be disgusted. I never really noticed, but if she says so, then sure.

"What?" I laughed.

"I mean, you probably don't see it, but everyone else does." She sounded nervous. "I just wanted to warn you. Aubrey and Jake have been on and off for a while and you know how she gets."

"Yeah I guess, but I thought you guys were only here for--?" Autumn cut me off.

"What Aubrey wants, Aubrey gets. And she did get him, unfortunately it hasn't been working out and yeah I'm sure you can figure the rest out for yourself."

"You want me to back off?"

"Not that I want you to back off, ugh well I really don't know why I'm here. I guess I just wanted to let you know." She tried faking a smile and turned around to show herself out, but I followed her anyway and closed the door behind her as I let out a sigh.

The next morning I woke up to the sound of one of the "Snobs" calling my name.

I quickly got up and ran over to the bathroom connected to the bedroom and turned on the tap to wash my face. The bathroom matched the bedroom; it was just as elegant and pretty. I quickly splashed water onto my face and put my hand out to feel for the towel on the hook. I dried my face and headed out my room and for the kitchen.

"There you are Alexis!" Autumn stood up. "You're missing breakfast. Come, come. Sit, sit." I sat down in the seat beside her and smiled at everyone at the table.

"Jake said he heard these were your favorite so everyone pitched in to make you a welcoming breakfast." Jonah blurted out.

It was my favorite; grilled cheese, scrambled eggs, hot coco and bacon. I was in heaven.

"Really? How did you know?" I looked at Jake.

"I saw it on Eating with Kate, aha. You said it's what you always ate as a kid." he smirked and continued to eat.

We all ate in silence, although Jonah attempted to make conversation many times.

"So, Alexis.. What's it like being one of the smartest people in the world?"

Awkward.......

"Well, I don't know... It's nerve racking and amazing at the same time. It's everything and almost nothing at all."

"Oh please" Aubrey hissed.

"That's really amazing." Jake looked at Aubrey then looked at me and smiled. "How did you do it?"

"Do what? Get where I am? As in being smart? Well I don't know. When I was little I used to get bullied----"

"No shock there" Aubrey cut me off and laughed.

"Shut up Aubrey. Sorry Alexis, continue." Autumn snapped.

"Um, it's okay. I'll pass. Excuse me." I tried holding in my tears and got up from the table and didn't look back.

"Nice going Aubrey." I heard Jake say and got up to run after me.

I kept walking; didn't know where I was going but I kept walking anyway.

"Wait." Jake shouted. "Wanna take a walk?"

"You're allowed..?" I mumbled while turning around.

"Haha, let's just say I'm the most trusted one in the house. Plus we're in the middle of nowhere, where else could we go?"

"That's true." I wiped my tears and followed him to the door.
