Chapter 10: A Dragon Daughter

Third Person's POV:
A small female dragon in her human form was running from hunters, "We know you're out here. Come out dragon!" the leader of the hunters said. The girl just kept running and running, her feet hurt since she didn't have anything protecting her feet from the cold hard ground. The moon was full and bright, the girl knew she only had a small amount of time before the hunters capture her again. She kept running until she ran into a wall created by an earth bender who was with the hunters. The girl looked back at her pursuers and backed up against the wall in fear. "You're ours now." The leader said, "S-somebody... a-anybody... h-help me." She said fearfully. Then a shadow appeared in the moon and landed in front of the little dragon girl. "Who are you?" the leader asked, the creature did not answer, "Are you alright, young one?" the creature asked, the dragon girl tried to run but her feet hurt too much. "You do not need to fear me. I am Zen Aku, protector of the wildlife, defender of the innocent and the environment, guardian of the planet." Zen Aku said as he held out his hand towards the girl, "Tell me, what is your name?" Zen Aku asked, "K-Kayley, m-my n-name's K-Kayley." Kayley said.

[Before meeting Kayley]
Zen Aku's POV:
As the moon rose up Red and I switched places and I walked to the flight deck. "Red, where are you going?" Korra asked, not wanting her to know I took control for the time being I let Red talk through me, "I'm just going to get some water." Red said and Korra went back to sleep. Once I got to the flight deck, I felt a chill in the air and went to investigate. Fortunately, Asami had landed the air ship to make some adjustments to the systems. I ran to where I felt a troubling disturbance, when I arrived, I saw a young dragon girl and hunters, I howled and jumped up into the sky to appear in front of the moon.

[Present]
Zen Aku's POV:
I saw the cuts and bruises on the young girl and both Red and I growled in unison, "What do you say boys? This creature might fetch a hefty price on the black market." The leader of the hunters said, "That won't be happening, because none of you shall ever hunt endangered creatures ever again." I said as I turned around and they saw me. I drew my blade and ran towards them and it didn't last long, for them that is. The clouds hid the moon and Red and I switched places for now.

Red's POV:
"Seriously! Whatever." I said as I raised my left arm, "WOLF STORM: RANGER FORM!" I said and I was transformed into the wolf ranger, the hunters activated their lights and saw me, "Who the heck are you?" one of them asked, "With the courage of a wolf, Wolf Ranger!" I said and I lunged at them and finished the job. I tied them up and called the police in this part of the world. I demorphed and waited for the police to arrive. Once they got here, I told them I saw a wolf creature protecting a little girl and tied the hunters up. They thanked me and took the hunters away. I heard the little girl's breathing and walked back to her as the moon showed itself again and Zen Aku and I switched places.

Kayley's POV:
I couldn't believe what I saw, this human has the power of the Wolf Warrior. "You are the Wolf Warrior." I said, "You know of me?" he asked, I looked down and a tear fell down my face, "My parents told me stories about you. Before those hunters..." I stopped and started crying, "They took away your family." Zen Aku said, I nodded, and he changed into the human. "You're an orphan, like I was." The human said, "You lost your parents too?" I asked, "Yeah, when I was three years old. I recently lost my eyesight. I was protecting my girlfriend the Avatar. My brother went to find a plant to heal my eyes. But right now, I can see more than any other human can. My name is Red by the way. Your Kayley, right?" Red asked, I nodded and gasped when I tried to move my arm. Red touched my arm and breathed then I saw black flames engulf my arm, but it didn't hurt. When he let go of my arm it felt better than ever, "How'd you do that?" I asked, "It's something called Shadow bending. I'm the reincarnation of Kai Zatu, my purpose is to keep the Avatar safe. But turns out that the Avatar became my girlfriend and is my childhood friend." Red said as I listened to his story, I felt him pick me up. "Where are we going?" I asked, "To my friends and girlfriend. We will keep you safe. If you want, I can adopt you as my own daughter. It's up to you." Red said as I drifted off to sleep.
