Trouble is brewing

Hope POV

I woke up this morning with a call from my "assistant".

"Hope!?" she screeched into the phone

"Gagh! Melody, what's wrong?"

"We have a um... A problem that needs help"

"What happened?"

"A, well, you see.."

"MEL! WHAT HAPPENED?"

"We got attacked by them" she finally mamnged to sqeak out.

"What?!" I growled into the phone already getting out of bed. I walked over to the closet to get my work clothes.

"We were counting our profits and they just burst through and ambushed us. I'm so sorry"

"Just.. Let me think. I'll be there in 20 minutes" I hung up and got dressed. I had in a black hoodie with black leggings and black sneakers. I wrote a note to my parents explaining why I wouldn't be home.

Dear momma and daddy,
Had buisness to take care of in the office... I'll be home soon. Might be late for school though lol. Love y'all and be careful...

With that I walked out the door and left.

I arrived at the warehouse. I was stilled pissed but, the drive helped calm the nerves. I busted through the door making some people jump and others drawing their guns.

"I'm going to ask this in the nicest way possible. What in the heck happened, for me to be woken up at 4:00 in the freaking morning?"

"We were counting the money from our last sell, with The Dragons, and then the East Side Rats came in and stole the money" Henry had spoken up. He's about 5'10" with curly hair and green eyes.

"All of it?" My teeth were clenched together so tight my teeth were gonna break apart.

"No ma'am." The blonde boy Noah said "They only took 100-150 dollars. Ma'am."

"And how do you expect to pay me back?" I was pissed. $100-150!! That was a freaking lot. Not really for us but I really needed that money.

"Nobody knows? Hmm, maybe part of your everyday paychecks can be mine until the money is raised? Would any if you volunteer to give up your paycheck?" Zac raised his hand. He had black raven hair, and tattoos on his arms.

"Zac. Thank you so much for volunteering. Come with me" I flicked my wrist in my direction indicating for him to follow.

"Yes Ms. Posten?"

"First if all, thank you for not being a wussy and being willing to give up some of your paycheck, to help pay me back. Second, I will not being taking money out of your paycheck. I know you have a wife and a future son to feed. Don't tell anyone though because I'm gonna make them work harder for me" I said smiling at him.

"Thank you so much" he smiled at me.

"How is Perrie doing by the way? Healthy I hope?"

"Yes. She us healthy and my son is doing good too. He's due in two short months" you could see him glowing from the pride.

"I'm happy to hear that. If you need a little break to help Per with the baby you can take one. You're gonna need to make it up though. You are my top bounty hunter" we laughed

"Thank you so much"

"No problem"

"You know? For a high school senior, you are really tough but caring at the same time. Please don't change"

"Thank you Zac. I promise to try my best to stay but honestly, I think my manners need work" he just chuckled and shook his head at me.

"Go ahead and go back in there. You are in charge for today. If you have any trouble, text me and I will get it sorted. I'm gonna be late for school" I started to walk off. I turned around really and shouted "TELL PERRIE I SAID HI!" then got in my car to drive to school.

***At School***

I walked up to Jessica. Scratch that, I dragged myself up to Jessica due to the lack of sleep I got.

"I love you but, you look awful"

"Thanks babe. I honestly don't even give a rat's ass. I'm too freaking tired"

"What happened?"

"I couldn't sleep so, I got up at 4:00 and sat around while working on Mrs. Ramsbottom's project for three hours"

"That's rough. And I hate to add even more bad on your day but, we have exams." she patted my back and left me alone

"What's wrong" I jumped when I felt two arms snake around my waist.

"Hey Seth. I'm just tired 's'all. What's up with you?" I turned around to face him and shot him a lazy smile.

"Nothing. My day did get better when I saw you though" he gave me a shy smile.

"You are too sweet." I pecked him on the cheek.

"And you are too beautiful" after a couple moments he said "Wait. Did I really just say that?"

"Yes, you did" I giggled at his confusion

"Oh. I'm sorry, I don-" I cut him off by pressing my lips gently against his.

"Don't sweat it. It was sweet"

"So what did you do yesterday?" I asked.

"Had a job to take care of' he shrugged

"Like what?" I forgot he was in a gang and my crew got attacked last night.... Naw, ain't him

"Ah, a... Buisness deal?"

"Okay" I watched his body language to figure out if he was lying to me or not. He is one awful liar but, I'll drop it. For now.

"C'mon, we need to get to class" he grabbed my hand and we walked into the school, occasionally getting looks from others

"Alright. I'll see you at lunch?" I questioned

"Of course" he smiled and pecked my cheek and left. Time for my death penalty AKA exams.
