"Why did I agree to this!?!?" I exclaimed while walking to the matchmakers office to pick up my matchmaking scroll with one of my best friends, Biana Vacker.
"It's too late to go back now! You already turned in your matchmaking packet!" Biana reminded me for what seemed like the hundredth time since they met up at Everglen to go to Atlantis. She was obviously much more excited about this whole thing than me.
I would never admit to this out loud, but I really want Fitz, who I have had a major crush on since he found me that day at the Natural History Museum, to be my number 1 match. I mean, he's THE most handsome elf in the elvin world. Biana is already dating Dex, my first friend since I moved to the Lost Cities when I was a level 2 at Foxfire. Tam, Linh's twin brother whom I befriended during the short time I was at Exillium, is dating Marella, the number one gossip and my first female friend at Foxfire. Me, Keefe, Linh, and Fitz seem to be the only ones in our group who haven't started dating anyone.
We turn another corner and the matchmaking building comes into view. Outside I see Marella standing with Tam, Dex talking to Fitz and Keefe, and Linh waving at us when she notices us walking towards them.
Once we get over to them Biana goes over and plants a quick kiss on Dex's cheek, making him blush. Keefe walks over to me and says teasingly, "Foster, you ready to find out who you are and aren't allowed to marry?" I reply sarcastically saying, "And that makes me feel so much better!"
