The humidity that day had its effect on the school in a way unlike the others. Sweaty teens dragged their feet against the school's tiles as they made their way to the next assigned class. Dream took off his hoodie and wrapped it around his waist as he simply carried his books into his next class, English.
He felt a smaller boy shove past him as he made his way through the door.
"Oh, I'm really sorry." He says as he turns to Dream with a nervous smile.
"It's okay.." Dream mumbles back, a small smile tracing his lips.
The boy sighs and makes his way to a desk, only two rows in front of Dreams.
"Attention class," The teacher calls from the front.
"We have a new student." She announces.
She points to the smaller boy Dream had seen before,
"Come here to the front please.." she whispers to the boy.
He gets up shakily and slowly walks towards the teacher.
"We have a new student.." She repeats, rubbing the small boy's shoulders.
"Introduce yourself." She whispers to the boy.
He nods sadly and clears his throat.
"My name is u-uh.." He begins.
A group of boys in the back chuckle and whisper.
"He sounds so pathetic," one of them said.
Dream looks back to them with a glare that made the kids bottle up in fear.
'Sorry' they mouth looking back to their work, ignoring the boy at the front.
Dream looks back at the boy with a smile and he blushes a bit in embarrassment, smiling as well.
"I think that's enough." The teacher says, eyeing the boys at the back, motioning for the boy to sit in his seat.
With this he nods a thank you and hesitantly walks to his desk, heart pounding.
Dream sits with his head in his hands, watching the boy take out his textbooks and write notes for the class. Sapnap nudges his side with his elbow, getting his attention."What's up with you?" He whispers.
All he gets in return is a mumble as Dream continues to stare at the brown haired boy.
Sapnap smirks and pinches his arm.
"HEY!" Dream yells, rubbing his arm, striking a glare.
"Is something wrong, Clay?" The teacher asks, as students burst out in laughter, by the use of his real name.
The young British boy turns to look at him with a straight face, unaware of the situation. Dream notices this and looks back to the teacher.
"I'm very much alright, love." He says, mocking a british accent.
The teacher rolls her eyes, focusing back to the board. The brunette giggles a bit, even though the joke wasn't that funny.
Sapnap turns to him and whispers in his ear,"I saw you staring at the new kid" He smirks.
"Stop.." he mumbles, smiling.
"I'm not saying anythinggg.." he drags the g and laughs a bit.
Dream rolls his eyes and focuses back to the front. He starts to daze off until he hears the teacher call for everyone's attention.
"Excuse me class, before you all leave, I would like to assign an assignment, to help you guys meet each other, and make some new friends!" She exclaims, a smile growing wider.
"We aren't 12, Lindy." Sapnap whispers to Dream, giggling. He can't help but wheeze.
"Something funny, Clay?" She asks, a stern look on her face. I was going to let you two be together since you have trouble making new friends, but maybe not. Hmm.." She looks around the room to find a student, and her eyes lock on the brunette.
"You." She points to the boy.
"You and Clay." She announces.
"You and Clay can be partners!" She exclaims, finally finding the words.
"Clay! Come over here and sit beside him." She demands.
"Mkay." He mumbles, grabbing his stuff and sitting on the chair next to him.
"Hey.." he whispers, smiling.
"Hiiii" George drags the I, trying to be friendly.
"Now for this assignment, you each will take about two hours out of everyday, go over to each other's houses, and fill out the 100 questions on this worksheet." She says, holding up a sheet full of tiny printed words.
"If by chance there are any and's, if's or but's, please visit me in the office after school hours." She explains.
"I have football after school, ma'am." Dream says sweetly.
"I'm sure you have time when you aren't doing football. If not he can come watch you play!" She says trying to help, only making things worse.
"So this is turning into a high school romance movie?" One of the boys from the back asked out loud.
"Ah, yes. Zak. You can be with Nick." She points to Dream's old seat.
Both of the boys groan. The teacher smiles as the bell goes off.
"I hope you all had an amazing first day back! Remember! Come collect the sheets and get crackin'!" She snaps her fingers.
Dream grabs a sheet, passing it to the boy.
"We could go to my house if you want.." The british boy mumbles, taking the sheet gently.
"Okay.. Are we going to go now?" Dream asks.
"Sure." He smiles softly.
They walk out the door awkwardly, both looking down at the floor.
"This cant be so bad.. Right?" Dream mumbles.
"I'm sure we could be great friends!" He answers back, cringing at his own sentence.
Dream smiles and chuckles silently at the boy's cuteness and walks out of the school.
