October was a great month for me, particularly because of the theme. I loved seeing the all-day horror movie marathons playing on the tv and seeing spiders and red paint splattered all over houses in my neighborhood. It was almost as if we were all on the same page, both kids and adults and I absolutely loved it. Also, the parties were absolutely off the top and didn't involve people showing off their expensive clothes or their possessions, it was all about what type of character you wanted to indulge yourself in, and how you wanted to present it. To me, this was very enjoyable and it made me very happy seeing people, from all different ages, enjoy it based on their likings. There were mid-October parties, weekend parties, weekend parties before Halloween, Halloween day parties, you name it. I decided to dress up as Ted Bundy, and I know that it doesn't sound very exciting when you put it in the aspect of getting dressed up or having an outfit that pops.
There was no messy make-up or props I had to wear. It consisted of wearing blue jeans, a brown turtle-neck, topped off with a nice cardigan all which I found in my local thrift store. Like I said, terribly boring but the excitement for me came within the persona of Ted Bundy and the mental illness that is impossible to name without relating to one of the most well-known serial killers of recent memory. Ted Bundy suffered from Antisocial Behavior and it gave me a chance to explore this mental illness and apply it to myself, with all due respect, for Halloween's sake. And with that, a backpack on my shoulder, while popping my anti-smoking pill varenicline, I went to Aubrey Carrol's place who was hosting one of the biggest Halloween house parties, she called it, The Party of the 31st.
Aubrey was one of the most beloved persons at Urbana High, she had the kindness of a sweet grandmother, the body of a college chick and a sense of humor that was so dark, Only a handful of people knew about. She was the perfect girl no doubt, but she also knew she was only settling for a 6ft big boy paired up with his dad's summer boat and an indoor pool, and in all honesty, she was right to settle for nothing less. Like I said before, she was super nice to everyone including me, we met when we were paired up in biology class, during our pig dissection course. When I first met her, I assumed she was going to be this nasty, narcissistic pile of human that probably wouldn't even look me in the eyes or at least make the time bearable. To my surprise though, she was actually pretty cool.
"Hey! I'm Aubrey, are you ready to cut through this freaking pig". She stood there with a smug smile that honestly made my eyelids quiver in confusion.
"uh, yeah that sounds great, um do you have an A..?".
"Apron? Yes, I got yours right here!" she replied.
"Thanks ...well let's do this thing, shall we?" I asked, still very confused. "
The whole class went pretty well, we had a lot of back and forth and we also joked around a lot and honestly, it's probably one of the few times that I didn't want class to end. We ended up creating a complete guts casserole of the pig and even cut the pig's tongue off. If anybody saw the way we were basically torturing the dead pig, I'm pretty sure they'd call us psychos.Aubrey's house was secluded in the more wooded area of the city of Middletown, to my surprise, a white SUV pulled up beside me on the sidewalk I was walking on, this is it, I thought, I'm getting abducted. Coraline flew out from the passenger seat, wearing what seemed to be a pink schoolgirl uniform, and wrapped her arms around me so tightly I swear I lost a few good seconds of oxygen. And of course, my face was all up in her breasts, which was a nice change of pace don't you say?
