To begin with, life isn't as easy as I thought it would be. When I was a kid, my parents always provided me with the things I wanted. From foods, books, toys, and my first ever keypad phone when I was in kinder. I always thought that we were well off enough to buy all the things I wanted and that everything in the world is free. 

Growing up, I looked up to my parents because I admire how they were able to give me the things I needed. I thought it was easy to earn money and buy all the things you wanted. Reaching my teenage years, I realized that life was not easy at all. I had to save the allowance my parents gave me for a week to spend in school including tricycle fare, snacks, and lunch. School projects that needed money were not even included in that allowance. 

Now I understand why my parents always talked about financial budget when I was younger. They often tell me that I had to save money when I grew older and learn when and where should I spent my money. They say, 'spend your money wisely'.

This short story indicates that, we, people struggle with our everyday lives. It doesn't always revolve around money. There are other problems in the world that could occur in the lives of different people. As what I learnt in my 16 years of existence,"People have different stories to begin with."

Always remember that we are not in their shoes to give criticism on how they manage to paddle their way out of the big waves. We are not ones to decide about their future. We are not the ones to decide what they do with their own lives. But bear in mind, help those who needed your help. Help them, but don't decide for them. 

Each living thing in this world matters, each one of us matters. Our different stories describes how we have managed to survive in this cruel yet beautiful world. Life gives people the opportunity to live in the world, to go farther, to go beyond. 

A life to enjoy, cry, learn from, and overcome.
