I made sure my bullet proof vest was secured and my gun was loaded before I jumped out of the van. The Jocobi family was stuck in their house with a madman and it was my team's job to get them out safely. Lord, help us get them out. Protect us. I walked through the dark backyard. Luckily the moon was behind the clouds so I could walk up to the house without being noticed. Another member of my team, Brett, was right behind me with his gun drawn. We both tip-toed to the back door. I peeked through the glass, seeing the Jocobi's sitting on their couch, a man going through the desk that sat in the living room.
"Ready?" Brett whispered to me. I nodded and went the signal to the members of our team in the front. I tried to jiggle the doorknob. It was locked. I took a couple steps back and then busted through the back door,my team coming through the front.
"FBI! Put your hands on your head and get on the floor!" I screamed at the man. He did as I said without a fight. I looked at the Jacobi family as I put handcuffs on the prisoner. Mr. Jacobi was in witness protection along with his family and the prisoner must have found out who he really was. Mr. Russo Capaldi, a wealthy business man, had been targeted by the owner of the company he worked for after he found that they were extorting money from the community. Thank you Lord for helping us get them out alive. The Jocobi's would have to be moved again and given different names again. But they were alive. And that was good enough for me.
"One more successful rescue, sir." Another teammate of mine, Daniel, said with a grin to our captain.
"You guys should be proud. There was no telling how that one could have gone." Captain Jenkins said to us. I smiled to myself. I gave all the credit to God.
