Things they don't know about Leo

part three of seven

A week. It's been a week since the argument and they haven't talked, haven't even glanced at each other since then and everyone was annoyed. So they forced them to be in the same room together and locked them in there. It was somewhat small.

"So, I've heard you're getting your machine working." She tried.

"Yeah." He said. It wasn't angry. It sounded sad and a little scared. He was tapping on the floor. She took a breath.

"I'm sorry." Piper sighed.

"I'm sorry for what I said. I was really worried because well everyone gets excited over parties. Especially if it's their birthday. I just let my anger get in the way."

"You were right. I don't tell you anything. I'm just....... I'm scared." He admitted keeping his gaze on the floor.

"I'm scared that if I tell you you'll just walk away. You'll leave me alone."

"I could never do that to you. That's why I threw the party in the first place. I thought you felt alone. I just didn't want you feeling like that." She said.

"I do feel alone and I know it's not your fault but now I feel more alone. You were right. I-I r-really should've just t-told you." He said and she raised an eyebrow.

"Are you-"

"I-I have to get out." He said and she looked at him confused.

"What?" She asked. He was shaking his breathing fast and uneven his eyes wide in fear.

"Woah woah hey." She said when he stood up and ran to the door. He knocked loudly. She swears she has never seen anyone more scared in her entire life.

"Help!!!!" He yelled. He felt trapped again. He didn't know how long it's been.

"Someone help!!!!" He sobbed and she ran to him. All of her anger left. The only thing she felt was protectiveness and love. She grabbed his shoulders and turned him around.

"Let me go!!"

"Leo I need you to look at me."

"No no. You're going to hit me." She raised an eyebrow.

"No it's okay. It's me Piper. I'm not going to hurt you." She said but he shook his head.

"Stop lying!!! You're lying, you're a liar!!!!" He yelled. He didn't know what was happening. She took a breath to calm herself down.

"Leo whats happening?"

"Their h-hitting m-me. They won't s-s-stop. Please m-make it s-stop." His everything was full of fear. His voice, the way he shook and slid to the floor his arms in a protective position. She kneeled next to him.

"No no it's okay. You're safe. There's nothing there." She said but he screamed.

"No. Nononono..... Get away from me! Get away!!!!" He yelled pushing her off. Suddenly the door opened and he curled into a ball repeating no over and over while crying and hyperventilating.

"Leo, I need you to listen." She said and everything stopped.

"Do you know who Piper is?" She asked. He thought for a little bit and nodded.

"My b-best fr-friend." He said and smiled. He was starting to calm down.

"I love h-her. But she d-doesn't love me." He said frowning.

"But who would? I'm just a stupid worthless freak."

"No no none of that is true. Piper does love you back. She loves you so much. She would do anything for you."

"Than why don't you understand?"

"Because I can't understand until you tell me whats wrong." She said. He thought for a bit and nodded.

"Okay but everyone needs to be here for this." He said and she nodded. Once they got everyone there he started.

"Percy has.... Had a brother." He said and their eyes widened. He told them how much he cared, the only one who cared for a long while. How he took him in and saved him multiple times.

He explained everything from his eyes to his ability to talk to fish. His time spent underwater. How amazing it was.

Then he got to the ending. Dirans ending. How there was a shooting when they got there and he got shot. His heroic act before closing his eyes one last time.

"I didn't know what to do after I lost him and when I found out he was your brother........" He was looking anywhere else but them.

"You couldn't do anything to stop it." Percy said hugging him.

"You're.... You're not mad?" He asked and Percy shook his head.

"Not at you. At that stupid shooter. Besides I know what its like to tell someone their brothers gone." He said sadly and Leo remembered the stories people told about Beckendorf, Luke and many others. Siblings cried for theirs blaming others but Percy and Annabeth were the ones who had to tell. They didn't blame anyone but Kronos and possibly themselves.

"You guys would've liked him." He said falling asleep against his chest. He was so tired from waking up that day and being trapped and telling stories.

"I know."
