Raven P.O.V.
I woke up and groaned at the headache that was pounding in my skull and I rolled over and buried my head in my pillow. "Raven!? Wake up youll be late!" I sighed in annoyance as my older brother banged on my door."Go away Luke!" i sighed and covered myself with the blankets snuggling into my bed and i fall back asleep dreaming of chocolate brown eyes that change color and night black hair. The eyes looking at me from under long beautiful lashes and wavy hair..gahhh!
i gasped sitting up as i get drenched in ice water. "Luke!" i seethe as my brother laughs and throws my cloths on the bed. "Come on your late. Oh..id take a shower if i were you." he walks out and i sigh. Great. Im dreaming about mystery boys and now i have to change my sheets and mattress.
I step off the last step and into the kitchen were my adoptive brother Luke is making cereal. I say adopted...i mean noticeable.
My mother had been driving into town for milk and her car broke down on the side of the road. she got out the car and began walking to a store when suddenly she heard crying in the woods next to her. now any other ordinary woman would kept walking but my mom was a kind spirit back then before she started drinking who wouldnt even let my dad kill a fly. She ran into the woods concerned for whoever was crying. She came across a box that was wet, soggy, dirty, and falling apart. Inside was a blue blanket with a tiny little hybrid furry inside. Luke was half fox and half husky. He was crying and looking up at my mom with light brown eyes and white fur all over except for the top of his ears and on his paws and his tail tip pink. My mom couldn't resist taking him home and after my father came back from the war he was greeted by a 2 year old Luke who was being fed by my mom. He hated Luke for a while for what he was but as soon as Lukes first word was "dada"..well a parents intuition kicks in. 3 more years and out popped me.
Anyways, my brother was excited today (his tail wouldn't quit swinging)
because he had gotten excepted into the best college in Jewel Cove and to make things better Furafinnity was an all boy college.
Luke smiled at me and made me some cereal pushing it to me "mornin sis. what's wrong? you look annoyed." he smiles sweetly and i scowl "bite me" he laughs and picks up my backpack tossing it to me and hands me my car keys. "have a good first day. love you. and be careful!"
If you haven't already noticed, Luke is very protective of me and a good brother. Don't let the "gay" fool you. My brother takes care of and problems i have with anyone. doesn't matter the species.

I was 10 and i had gotten a pink flower from Luke that morning and i had been wearing it all day. well one boy came up and pushed me down calling me the freak with the gay brother covered in hair. he smashed the flower and left as i got up and ran home crying. Mom at the time had just begun drinking as dad had left her. the only one there was Luke. he ran outside to meet me and listened as i told him about the flower and all he did was nod and bring me inside and called the boys mother and told her that her 12 year old son had been ordering porn through her account and her bill was over 200 dollars. i didn't no what porn was back then but Im 17 now and really...Im not gonna pretend Im innocent in everything.
Anyways i could here his mother screaming over the phone and my brother hung up and took me out to eat and after we went to a field and picked flowers to weave together. That field is our sanctuary even to this day. when mom comes home reeking of alcohol and gets violent we go to the field and pick the pink flower that reminds me of whirlpools.

I smiled at the memory and like he could read my thoughts, Luke hugged me and whispered"ill miss you kiddo. if things get crazy just go to the field." i nodded and sniffed"ok enough movie cliche. I've got to get to school. " he smiles ruffling my hair and laughs waving as i pull out of the driveway and begin my way to school.
