Chapter 3 - I'm on my Knees

I open my eyes to hear the obnoxious loud noise that is coming from my phone. Damn, it's morning already. Who knew that homework took so long? It's not like I've been doing homework til now haha. Or paying attention to the lessons at that. Better get ready. It's just my second day and I don't want to be late. I get ready and take a shower, eat breakfast, get changed, and get going.

Welp I'm here. I past the gate and walk through the gigantic doors. Hmm what class do I have? Oh yeah that's right, I have to walk through the cafeteria to get to Room 101.
As I walk my way to Room 101. I see Kirari. On the second floor of the cafeteria. I make a stop and I stare at the person above.
Wow. She is such a beauty isn't she. She talks as if she is the only person that matters in this world. She is almost like a princess. I wonder if she could be mine.
As I stare and let my thought run around through my mind, Kirari looks over to see me stargazed over her. I didn't really notice that she saw me at the time but then she spoke,
"Whatcha lookin at, y/n." She says.
"Well I was just walking to my class until I saw a magical princess on my way," I say.
"Hmm. Didn't I say to give up a while ago?" She asks.
"Yeah yeah, I know you said that but I don't tend to listen to what others say." I asserted.
I wonder what she's thinking. I wonder if she actually likes me or thinks I'm annoying. Of course I'll never know what she's think right now.
(Kirari's Pov)
You know. Whenever she says that with such confidence, it-it's kind of cute. Wait? Kirari?! What are you think? I mean nobody ever has the balls to say stuff like that to my face. Not even Sayaka. I guess being around y/n is something new to me. I can't just think this. It's embarrassing. Ok ok... let's just be the assertive, cocky me again. Say something Kirari.
"Oh my. When you are gambling, make sure not do that," I announced. *bell rings* "Well you better get to class, y/n" I says.

What does she mean by that? I should listen to other people? Ya know this gambling thing is not gonna be my thing huh? I walk to class.
~a few hours past til lunchtime~
"Phew finally," I say as the bell rings.
*the whole class laughs* Well I thought it was the whole class but apparently this one dude didn't really like me. Her name was Itsuki Sumeragi. The daughter of like a toy store or something. Don't know. Don't care. But then she suddenly starts walking over to me with this evil looking face.
"Hey you," she spits out.
"Hiiii, you don't really like me huh?" I say cockily. Of course she didn't like me haha.
"You think you're the best huh? I doubt you got any skill in gambling though? And this whole school is about gambling. I doubt you know even how to play poker." She says to me. *the class laughs*
Damn it. I'm trying to make people like me but she's definitely getting in the way. And she even insults me.
"Wow insulting me already." I say.
"Yes I sure am. How about we play some poker and see if you actually have any skills." She snarks.
Shit. I have no idea how to play. But I can't just deny her request in front of everyone. I just have to play.
"Ok let's go then." I say. Not letting people see the true fear I had inside.
*We start playing. I mean they described the rules, but everything was so confusing. I thought it was just normal until she pulled multiple mind tricks on me. I lost...*
"*i fall to the ground* I cant believe it," I whimper to myself.
"Oh but you can. hahahahah." She laughs in my face.
"I lost like 10,000 yen." I say. (10,000 yen = 94 usd)
"yeah yeah that can only buy me like a dinner. Its not too much so don't complain." She says with an annoy grin on her face.
"Damn it. I suck don't I." I laugh it of trying to act like I don't care that much in front of the class. *the class laughs*
"Welp I better get eating."
~school ends~
All I could think about was gambling after that. It fun but am I reall that bad. I need to find someone that can teach me. Hmm. I wonder. I start walking around the school. Honestly, Kirari did a good job showing me around. I walk around a corner to find this unknown area that she didn't show me. Hm... I walk down and open a door. To find Kirari standing next to one person. Oh yeah that's right. I can ask Kirari to tutor me. I need to get better at this. Right now it's my number one goal.
Wait. Who is standing next to her? Oh that's right. Sayaka Igarashi. Heard she had the best grades in the entire country for our age.
"I- I really like you Kirari!" She says right as I open the door.
They both turn around to find me shocked as I stand still.
"u- um I'm so sorry. Excuse me." I stutter out.
I close the door and just stood there in shock. I did NOT mean to walk in on that. I sat down on the side of the door and waited. I guess I could have walked in on something way worse. I need to ask her something so I'm just going to wait. Right? Unless they're making out or something.
I hear the door slam open and a crying Sayaka runs away. Oh I guess she got declined. Should I walk in there? Maybe I should comfort Kirari. I walk in there and Kirari is almost unfazed. Damn, she really doesn't have that many emotions does she. I walk closer and say, "Are you okay? This is a big deal right?" I ask.
"I mean in Sayaka's eyes, yes, but I don't see it as a big deal. She'll be coming back to me and doing our normal student council things." She says. Wow so she just declines people like this. Now I'm kind of scared of her.
"Oh really." I say, kind of shocked."
"So what brings you hear?" She asks.
I tried to be a little funny to brighten the mood. I get down on my knees and act like a prince to a princess.
"Madam, I'm asking with kindness in my soul, will you teach me the ways of gambling? As you probably saw in the cameras, I lost a gamble and I totally suck at gambling." I started losing my prince voice. "I- I just need some help." I say.
"Oh so you knew about the cameras?" She said surprised.
"Well yeah. There's about 8 that I saw in Room 101. You guys sure put lots of them." I say.
"Well actually there's 9. But that's besides the point. You want my help?" She says with a grin.
Damn I know what she's thinking. She likes being in power huh?
"Yes I actually do. *I get up*" I say. I grab her hands. She flinched a little. "Please help me. You were right I was being cocky and I lost some money. Please give me lessons." I ask. I sound so vulnerable right now. This sucks.
"Well, since Sayaka isn't around right now, she'll probably get back to work in a few weeks, if you do the work she has to do for her in the mean time, I'll give you lessons after." She says.
"YAHOOOOO!!" I jump in excitement. I'm actually really happy I get to get lessons, and be with Kirari, my crush.
"Wow you're so excited." She says.
"Well of course I am. Who wouldn't want to take lessons from someone as amazing as you 😉." I confidently say.
"No need to get confident. I saw your gamble and you were on all fours. Like a kitty." She snarks.
"Oh yeah I heard about kitties and puppies from one of my classmates." I say. "Well now I have you so I doubt I'll become one now."
"I guess." She says.
"Welp I better get going. I got a bunch of shit to do at home and all my homework as well. Can we start our lessons tomorrow?" I ask.
"Yeah ok. I'll see you tomorrow, y/n" She says as I walk out the doors.
YAY I have someone to give me lessons. AND they're Kirari. I get to be taught by a queen. What a treat.
