"so you're tsukishima kei? the one whom i always hear crying beside me?" he chuckles.

"yeah."

"i'm yamaguchi tadashi. i hope we cam get along well!"

"..."

"yeah, i hope so too."

tsukishima bit his lip a little too hard, while trying to ease the irritating, but painful itch in his chest.

just by looking at him all awoken, smiling again, made his heart pound roughly, bringing nothing but conflicted emotions. his world was picking up its own pieces.

just by hearing those soft chuckles, just by seeing his green eyes once again, look at him with lots of love and anticipation, he felt at ease but his past would never leave him.

even if he were to hide it really well, yamaguchi would surely find out one day, then leave him again.

all he has to do now, is slowly rebuild his own crumbling core that held him together, along with yamaguchi's lost love for him.

"how long have i slept?"

"5 to 6 months.

"really?! that's a long sleep..."

he chuckles again.

"it was pretty devastating to always hear your soft whimpering over my sleeping body for that long..."

"but now that i have awoken, there's nothing to cry about! i will be there."

with a big grin, it reminded tsukishima of their high school days. he could feel the first time where yamaguchi had confessed.

the mild, breeze of spring, that wafted in a faint smell of moist plants. the muffled chattering of students around the school. it brought back that longing sense, of affection for one another.

all he could see was his younger self with yamaguchi, at their prime, interwining fingers while they embark on a remarkable journey that would cater to their hearts content.

but it'll stop, because of tsukishima. and then, they'll diverge paths again. the spark flies off, it'll soon mark the end of a youthful relationship. as it ends in tradegy, then again, a new spark is created.

a bond is rebuilt, but the remnants of a horrible mistake remains.

so then, would tsukishima be able to hide it well?

he just ponders again, lost in his vast thoughts of yamaguchi's smile. although it's already been a few days, that delightful smile remained in his head.

he had looked forward to every single visit, in hopes of seeing his smile appear whenever he sets foot into yamaguchi's ward.

"will you still come tomorrow? and the day after?"

"yes, i will. i'll always stay by your side."

"then, it's a promise! see you tomorrow!"

"yeah. see you tomorrow."

for the first time, tsukishima could smile with a feeling of happiness again, infront of his beloved.

and returned to him was a comforting, warm embrace.

"i hope you'll bring more snacks tomorrow.."

"i will, don't worry."

"good night!"

he couldn't sleep, and stayed up all night thinking about yamaguchi's expression earlier.

although he looked gleeful as he smiled widely, his eyes looked lonely. it was then, tsukishima wanted to spend more time with him, so that he wouldn't feel like he was abandoned.

just by thinking of it, all he wanted right now, was tightly clasp onto yamaguchi's small figure, both in each other's arms, sleeping soundly without a care.

"tomorrow... i'll see you again."

forever, etched into his soul, he swore he will never abandon his beloved. not even once, even if yamaguchi were to leave first.
