Confrontation

Aditya was completing formalities for their trip when he got a call on his phone. He had it set as a ringtone usually utilized for his security team. He stopped in his tracks and reached for his cell.

He took a deep breath, he hoped it was concrete news.

"Hello Robert, any updates?"

"Sir I actually think you need to see what we found in person," his security lead declared.

" Ok so I will meet you at the office within thirty minutes," Aditya replied as he glanced at the grandfather clock in his study.

" Sure sir, we are preparing the information for your review," he responded.

Aditya arrived at the office directed himself to the more private area of his company's headquarters. Even his family members did not know that he used this space.

As he swiped into the secure location, he briefly thought about his wife and their upcoming trip. He hoped to make new memories with her and that life could return to somewhat normal.

Robert and a few others shared the information, it was not until they got to the picture of two identical girls, who appeared to be the younger version of Kiara that Aditya froze in shock.

"Did Mrs. Raichand ever mention a sister? An identical twin to be exact, Dr. Foster inquired. He had joined Robert , Dino and Jimmy in the conference room with Aditya today.

"No she never mentioned a twin. As long as I have known her, she never mentioned a sibling," he muttered.

"What about her parents sir? Did they mention losing a child or maybe living with other relatives?"

"Kiara was adopted as a child. There was some flooding in her hometown where she lived before. She was anxious a few years ago when we were dating, her foster mother had Alzheimer's . Maya Mehra had gone missing that night," Aditya declared.

" Is there anyone we can inquire more about her past? We don't know if the woman in your house is even."

"My wife or a stranger," he replied solemnly.

Everyone stood around for a few moments not sure how to proceed.

"There is one person who can shed some light. Robert is Raj Mehra back in the city?"

" I am on it sir. If he is, I assume we are paying him a visit?"

Aditya nodded.

Raj was indeed back in the city but he was not expecting Aditya Raichand and his security detail and a psychologist waiting for him in his living room.

" Hello beta, how are you? I was not expecting you and your friends here," he said uncertain.

Aditya walked towards him. Then he shoved the picture of Kiara and her sister in his face.

"Can you tell me about this Raj Uncle?"

Raj looked back at him stunned.

"Where did you find this?"

" Wrong question. The real question is, who is in my house, is it Kiara or someone else?"

" As you probably figured, Kiara is adopted. But we heard about her twin many years later. We wanted to find her, but she was kidnapped. We found her shortly before Kiara met you. But then she was gone again. Kiara did not meet her then. But she may have before the plan crash that almost killed her," Raj revealed.

Aditya looked at him quizzically.

" You know something else. Were you the one that helped Kiara or her twin in Los Angeles?"

" Yes it was me. I realized she lost her memory or wasn't Kiara. I felt bad either way, so I had to help my daughter,"

" Is there any chance the woman in my house isn't my Kiara?"

" She saved your life right in that shooting? If it was her twin , she would have no natural instincts to come to you," Raj stated.

Aditya shook his head.

"Unless this is plan. Maybe my wife did die in that plane crash and this is her twin, you conspired to keep business going as usual because you found a stand in to make me happy ," Aditya declared.

Raj looked back at his son-in-law stunned. But did realize the younger man had a reason to suspect him. Kiara's disappearance eighteen months ago had caused a lot of chaos in the media along with their personal lives.

Aditya had been distraught because he failed to keep her safe, a promise he made her , himself along family and friends at their intimate wedding. They had been able to keep it low key, but the wedding day was a dream come true for any couple.

She had left for business trip and then of course the plane crash news broke all of their hearts to pieces. Maybe not his mother's, she felt upset for his lack of happiness over the months . He became more of a work-alcoholic and bitter when approached exception being Nyra his sister.

Aditya looked at Raj firmly as he was leaving.

" I guess I will have to try to figure out who she is for sure. We will be in touch," he drawled.

The older man merely gave him a considerate nod, and stepped out of his way.
